dressing your LO

Hi!

I was wondering how do you dress your LO?  We have our heater on all day at 68 degrees and we have our LO in a long-sleeve onesie and a cotton footie.  Is that too much?  Do you use a sleep sack for sleeping then or is that too warm?

Re: dressing your LO

  • During the day she's usually in long sleeves and pants. At night a long sleeve onsie and a sleep sack. They should be dressed one more layer than you. Although I'm always cold so I'm usually dressed warmer than DD lol

  • We keep our house at 75 so during the day she is in a short sleeve onsie and pants and at night a cotton sleeper.

  • We live in a warm climate where we keep the AC on year round.  This fall/winter she's been in a long sleeved onesie and socks around the house and I put pants on her if we go out.  As it gets hotter outside she'll start to wear short sleeves and dresses.

  • He's in sleepers day and night. I like to keep his feet covered. We also swaddle him in the sleeper with two layers. Sometime I think he maybe be hot, but not enough to be uncomfortable or fussy.
  • I usually keep them in a short sleeve onesie or tshirt, with a footed pj over that, sometimes socks if its chilly. for bed, its the same only add a swaddle sack. I keep their room between 68-70 but its a chilly 70 imo, maybe because the cool mist humidifier running and we live it new england.

  • its between 60-75 in our apt. most time. when we are just in here she either has a sleeper on or a onsie ( long or short sleeved) with pants, or high socks.  When we go out she usually gets long sleeved onsie with little hoodie, jeans, socks and some sort of slippers.  and then bundled up with some covers once she is snapped in her carseat.

  • DS wears the footy pajama things all day and night. Our heater is crap, it's propane and we can't adjust the heat on it, so it's burning hot when it's on and there's nothing we can do, so we don't use it at all. We have a little space heater we drag to whatever room he's in.  Even wit hthe space heater it's a little chilly most days so we don't bother putting him in anything besides the pajamas. We use the halo sleep sack swaddle thing at night, mostly to keep him warm. Our bedroom has a glass door so it gets really nippy in there at night time. I don't think LO cares if he's swaddled or not, we just keep doing it to keep him warm. I can't wait for a couple of months so I can put him in cute clothes, not just pajamas.
  • I may not be the best person to answer this question because even at the hospital when I had my DD they were telling me I dressed her too warmly!  We keep the house between 70-72.  During the day I usually put her in a long sleeved onesie with cotton pants and socks or if the outfit top isn't a onesie I will put a short-sleeved onesie underneath.  Always socks even under fleece jammies.  At night she also has a Halo Sleep Sack to keep her warm and keep her from waking herself up.  When she sleeps during the day (usually in the swing) I cover her with a blanket and tuck it around the sides so she can't pull it on top of herself.  If you lay your LO down for naps in that outfit I would swaddle (but that's just me and I tend to overdo it)!
