Baby movements waking you up?

Does/did your baby kick and move a lot, more so at night? Wanda likes to kick and she is active at night. Last night she literally woke me up, I think she was practicing for U.S. Gymnastics Team. I don't know what she was doing in there, it felt like tumbling and summersaults and back flips. I got worried that she was having a convulsion or something, but she settled down. I wonder if this is telling me there is more to come and I can't imagine when she is bigger what it is going to feel like!

Re: Baby movements waking you up?

  • Actually, no. I never get woken up. BUT - I am a pretty deep sleeper ... so I imagine that is why. :)

  • Oh no, I just realized - I'll probably have contractions and water breaking in my sleep and not know it until I wake up! I'll be dialated and ready to push by the time the alarm goes off!!! LOL!
  • Babies are usually more active at night. During the day when you are walking around you are rocking her to sleep. But at night when you are still it is party time!!
  • I don't think Baby Girl has woken me up, luckily! She seems to have been trained, like the cats, NOT to wake up momma until she actually sits up in bed! haha! With the cats, if I start to kind of wake up, they'll snuggle tighter! With Baby Girl, if she senses me move, she'll do a couple little nudges to let me know she's still in there. ;-)

The kicks will actually lessen the further along you get. I actually miss the kicks. Now I get stretching movements, since there isn't much room for her to do anything else.
