Pregnant after a Loss

ok mild freak out ***Updated***

so I noticed LO hasn't really moved as much today - I know it's still early and he could be having a quiet day, but normally the last 1-1.5 week when I wake up I can get him to move a bit and wake up w/ a few kicks/moves; then while I'm having breakfast he usually does a few rolls or light moves for a bit then he quiets down in the afternoon til later.  This morning he really didn't move at all when I woke up (maybe 1 very small move) (i usually pat my belly and talk to him )  and then nothing while I ate breakfast.   I've gotten 2 small kicks out of him and 1 flutter but nothing like normal lately.   I've had a little bit of Coke, OJ this morning, and then water and Cranberry juice recently.

On the OB's site, it says if you notice decreased movement after 20wk to call and I'm sure he's fine but ... now I'm started to get nervous so I called and left a mess with my OB.    Ok just talk me down that he's probably fine.....

ETA - Update: so nurse called back and said OB wanted me to go to L&D for decreased fetal movement/stress test.  So off I went and just got home a few ago.  LO is doing good, didn't like the monitor and kicked it of course...and then had some movement.  The nurse was really nice too :)  She said not to worry, I did the right thing (drinking juice, water to try to get him to move) and not to feel bad at all.   (wipes brow)  So I will be having a chat with LO tonight about no more scaring his mom & dad, and he will also be grounded!

thank you all!!

  • I'm sure he's fine but you did do the right thing! He could totally be having a sleepy day and going through a growth spurt. Keep us posted.

  • Everything is most likely perfectly fine, but hopefully your OB will be able to reassure you.  Slow movement days are torture but every LO seems to have them.  We all have lazy days, right?  I also noticed that whenever I started to worry about slow movement and do things to get LO moving, she would refuse, but usually make up for it later.  Hopefully he perks up this evening/night and you can relax!

  • I'm so sorry your little guy is giving you such a hard time today.  It must be the thing to do this week with little boys.  Mine is normally super active and you might remember my "LO is grounded post" from Tuesday.

You completely did the right thing by calling the on call doctor.  My LO was fine when I went in for decreased fetal movement on Tuesday, but my MFM said it was exactly the right thing to do.  Anytime it doesn't feel right or really deviates from normal...call.

I'm sure your LO is fine and he probably has lazy days just like we do, but it's not nice to scare his momma!  (Big hugs. I know how terrified I was Monday night.) Hope the on call dr calls back soon.  Please keep us updated!

  • I am sure everything is fine. I find (and did with DD too) that the more I focused on the movements the less I felt like baby was moving and would drive myself nuts. I am glad you put in a call to the OB. The only other thing I would suggest is that if you have a doppler give it a try. A lot of times I can hear baby's movements that way that for some positioning reason am not "feeling". Keep us posted!

  • I'm sure he is fine, just taking it easy or facing the other way. Hopefully the doctor can ease your head. I know I would need some reassurance just like you.

  • I'm so glad everything turned out well and LO is doing just fine. (Our little boys can be grounded together!) Now at least you can hopefully get some sleep tonight.

:) I agree - both grounded.   And of course after dinner he decided ok, I'll move now.   So I had my chat with him and DH chimes in "yes don't worry your mother"  Sleep would be good knowing he's ok :)    Hope your LO is being good too!

Oh yes, Gavin did that too! As soon as we got to the MFM he'd had enough of nap time and decided he'd put on a show. He's back to kicking up a storm now, which I'll gladly take! Silly little boys.
