Re: Reviews for Dr Sattar's practice? (Schenectady)

  • I went to Sattar's practice.  Granted, it was 6 years ago.. looking on the website, a bit of the staff has changed- but the majority look the same.  I loved them. I loved their care.  I rotated among 3 midwives and really, really liked them. (so personal, took their time, answered all my questions all the time regardless of how long I took and how silly they were). I ended up needing an OB to deliver (there was Sattar and the one I used, who doesn't appear to be there now) - but I truly loved my care.

I'd for certain recommend them :)  (FYI, I delivered at Bellevue. I was supposed to deliver at St Clares when it WAS St Clares and they delivered, but ended up at Bellevue because I was giving birth at 35 weeks and needed the NICU).

Thank you! That was helpful information. I see that you had another little one after that. Did you switch practices for her?

Alexis is my only child :)  She'll be 6 in March (so I was with Sattar's practice 5/6 years ago. We're only having one child.  That said, If we had another I would have most definitely went back to them for my care.

Welcome!  FYI, I'm sure some of the staff has changed (because a lot can in that amount of time) but the receptionists and nurses were fab too. Just one pregnancy, and they all learned my name very quickly and knew me when I came in. They were also very good about quickly calling back if you had questions and called them/needed them.. and I had an issue once (concern) and they got me in within an hour to check things out for me. They were also good when I refused certain things and never questioned my choices I researched.  They're very open minded, and very pro "birthing".  (again, it looks like some staff and midwives have changed but I'm sure the overall practice and care is the same).

You could always give a call and make an appointment. NO harm in switching if it's not up to your standards and you'd like to try out a diff. practice.

  • I'm a patient there right now and just recommend them in one of your other posts.

Dr. Sattar is still there! :) There are also 4 rotating MW's and I love love love love love this practice. They always give me time and answer my questions without ever making me feel like I'm a moron. They will always call back the same time if you leave a message within a reasonable time of course, if you call 5 min before they close, not fair. lol. But the entire staff is super friendly and nice.

    Any questions? :)
