So I just went in for the 20 week ultrasound on Friday, (it's a girl). But, there is so much placenta in front of baby, that I can't feel her kick yet

Yesterday, I thought I felt two mini ones for a sec or two. Anyone else having/or had this problem? When did you start to feel strong kicks?
Re: Placenta blocking kicks?
I have an anterior placenta as well. It's frustrating when you aren't sure if the tiny feelings are gas or the baby. During my anatomy scan I saw my daughter kicking and moving but felt nothing! The last two or three days I'm starting to feel it more and more so hopefully by next week there will be even more.
My doctor told me the placenta can only move up as the uterus grows so between it moving out of the way and the baby getting stronger, you'll feel her soon enough! hang in there!
I also have an anterior placenta, and didn't feel much movement until about two weeks ago. They have been getting stronger every day, though!
Hang in there, you'll feel her kicking so soon
You have what's called an anterior placenta. It can take up to 28 weeks before the baby is strong enough to kick hard enough so you can feel it through the placenta.
Think of it as your baby is punching a big pillow and that's why you don't feel much.
I feel "flutters" which often feel like gas but isn't.
It's a bummer if you ask me, but it has no real impact on the health or your successful delivery of the baby.
