Great "letter" to the mom's of just one child

this probably isn't what you think it will be... not telling them to stop complaining, etc.

I had a singleton first (as many of us on here did) and we know- that it's STILL not easy... and this article says it so beautifully.  A must read for all moms of multiples - and singletons.

  • Maybe DD1 was justa really good baby. But I always thought it was pretty easy.  I remember watching Baby story and stuff on TV wondering why in the world people come have their mom stay with them to help.   I never once thought to myself "this is so hard".   I have said that several times with the twins though.

some babies are a LOT easier than others, that is for sure... and some people have zero baby experience and are scared to death.

My husband and I had a TON of baby experience before we had kids -so we really never felt like it was HARD. No, it's not EASY, but it was not ever really hard for us- and we didn't have people come stay over, etc... BUT we knew what we were doing and had zero fear in our abilities and knowledge.

But i know some babies that are terrors... colic, etc... it can make  you go insane.  My twins were MUCH easier than my nephew was as a singleton baby... and that's 2 kids being easier than 1, which can happen.

that's why i always feel twin only (or trip only, quad only) moms need to cut their singleton friends a break - b/c it's all relative. :)  and none of it is EASY... but it's all a great job :)
