DS gets formula sporadically throughout the day, usually 3-6oz since I have a low supply. It's almost always paired with EBM, he has a bad latch which we are still working on and he's a lazy eater.
We had a bunch of Similac RTF bottles and got through all those, then had 16 Enfamil RTF bottles. We're almost done with those. The past couple days he's had more frequent poops but has been extremely gassy and the poop has a bit of mucus in it. It's normal colored though. The gas bothers him more at the end of the day and gas drops help a little, but don't seem to help a ton. I know that fussiness while gassy/pooping is normal though.
He was on Enfamil RTF at the beginning and the poop was dark brown, but no gas issues. We switched to the Similac after that poop freaked us out, but the LC (also a pediatric RN) assured us that was normal. Knowing that, we felt fine with finishing off the Enfamil.
He's not spitting up excessively and we get good burps. The poop has me concerned though with the mucus.
After the Enfamil RTF bottles are done, we have Similac powder to use.
We go to the pedi Tuesday for his one month checkup, so I'll ask then.. but my first guess is the formula is making him gassy since the Similac RTF didn't have the same effect, but the mucus throws me off. Could it be dairy even though the poop isn't turning green?

Re: Mucus but normal colored poop?
Does he have a cold? If he has mucous in his nose, it can cause mucousy poop. If not, I'd say it's the formula and would switch back to the brand that didn't cause the mucous. As long as it isn't green, very stinky and/or have blood in it, I wouldn't be too concerned.
His poop doesn't smell any more than it did previously, and you only smell it for a minute and then nothing. We CD and every time I open the wet bag, there's no smell.
Today should be the end of the Enfamil, I'm really hoping it's the formula. This feeding drama is exhausting.
