With my mom, in hospice

I'm in FL with my mom in hospice. I appreciate that I can type this out here. I'm so fortunate to have close friends and family and also to have this cyber space- I've learned a lot here.

My dad told me to come early and I'm glad I did. In her drugged state she was able to tell me she loved me and even hug me . She is not eating and she had head pain - which she gets drugs for.

Ive talked to her a lot. Told her what's in my heart. Watched my dad do the same though more openly - my conversations with her were more private.

I feel selfish. I don't want her to go. But I told her I'd be ok and take good care of Sam - with her right over my shoulder. I still feel like it is all a bad dream.
