Did you ever want to change your name as a kid? How do you feel about your name now?
When you were younger/or when you were a kid, did you have a 'name picked out' for when you grew up and had kids? Or even before marriage? I know a lot of people who have told me that, but I wonder if anyone ever followed through and did it.
( For me, no to either, and I like my name. )
Re: Kid's names, when you were a kid
i never wanted to change it, but i did get to the point when i was sick and tired of always correcting everyone on the proper way to say/spell both my 1st and last name and explain that i had no middle.
although my difficult to say/spell name did come in handy with screening calls from telemarketers!
FF to having to make the decision to change my name when i got married and i didn't want to change it at all. it was mine after all and while not a crazy off the wall celebrity baby name, but it was unique. turns out the no middle name finally came in handy and now i'm first name madien name DH's last name, so i'm still me
Did you ever want to change your name as a kid? How do you feel about your name now? Growing up, my 3 BFFs were all "Katie", so I went through a phase where I wanted to be a Katie too. Now I am ok with my name. It is not super common, but not super unique either.
When you were younger/or when you were a kid, did you have a 'name picked out' for when you grew up and had kids? Or even before marriage? Nope. We are just starting to think about names for our LO and I don't even know where to start. DH has always known that he wanted to name a son (if we have one) Kevin... III. I am sort of "eh" with this, but told him I would call DS "Tres" just for fun. I guess I could pull the, you name a boy I name a girl card, but I am so clueless.

I like my name ok. I guess changing it never really crossed my mind.
When I was younger I used to read a lot of the sweet valley books with the twins Jessica and elizabeth and always liked the name and said I would name a daughter that. Dh always liked the name elizabeth also although I don't know what stemmed it if anything so naming dd was easy. We never even discused another girl name. I have no idea what we would have gone with if ds was a girl!
I always liked my name but was shy when I was young and when I said Kristy people thought I was saying Krissy. To this day I HATE when people all me Krissy but now I correct them. I didn't like that no one spelled my name the right way. But still liked my name. I did have a fake name though...Penny Jay. Doesn't everyone need a fake name :-)
When I was a kid I wanted to name a boy Cody then I had a student named Cody..plus it is to 90s.
When I was a kid I HATED my name. Why? I had older siblings who used to rhyme my name: Missy Pissy. I know, silly, but as a kid it was awful, especially when it got around school. Also, there were 3 other Missy/Melissa's in my class so that made it hard being Missy G. during school. I always liked Carrie, and wanted that to me my name.
My name is actually Melissa, but everyone always called me Missy. I like my name now. I don't want to change it anymore.

I don't remember ever disliking my name or wanting to change it. My mn is Marie which I always thought was so boring since almost every one of my friends is Marie as well!
Well, I always liked the names Victoria, Allison, and Cassandra and all of those are actually on the list if this one is another girl. Of course there are about 10 others with them, but they are on the list!
Yes, I totally disliked my name as a child. I don't think my name was very common. I didn't meet anyone with the same name as me until I was in college. I always wanted a "normal" name like Melissa or Jennifer or something.
I don't know if anyone will know this, but there was a movie called "Just One of the Guys" the main character was named Terri and she changed her name to Terrance when she "became a guy." I was only 5 when the movie came out, but I remember being teased by my brothers about that. That was fun. ::insert sarcasm::
I don't remember ever disliking my name and I love it now. It's fairly uncommon but I always have to tell people "Kristina with a K" so they spell it right!
I had a lot of names picked out as a kid, mainly for girls (Melanie, Taylor), and obviously we didn't use either one. I still like those names though.
I always wanted to legally change my name to Nikki (from Nicole). Everyone called me Nikki, and I remember I asked if I could get Nikki on my drivers license! Now that I'm older everyone in my professional life calls me Nicole and all my high school girlfriends still call me Nikki. My close family and friends typically just call me Nic.
I don't remember having names picked out for my kids. But I loved the name Rebecca, and always used that name for my dolls/barbies.
