Getting ready to go into L&D and all I can think is...

If I eat now, will I have time to poo again so I don't poo during delivery?

Haa!! Sure, say it doesn't matter, but I'm the girl who apologizes every time the doctor has to go down there.... "sorry... I know it's your job and all but.... yea...."

Went in for my appointment and was told "see ya in 4-5 hours!" I'm 3 cm dilated and fully effaced, contractions are about 6-7 minutes apart, so looks like I'll meet my son tomorrow! YAY!

Now to walk these contractions into active labor. Stick out tongue Too bad winter FINALLY came and it's freezing!!!

    It depends on what you are doing for pain management.  If you are going to get an epidural fairly soon, I might now eat if you are super concerned about pooping while pushing.  When I had my epidural with DS, I got a catheter & didn't get up to go to the bathroom until after he was born.  That being said, I would still eat.  I didn't feel like eating before going into the hospital because I was in pain & then was STARVING because they wouldn't let me eat. GL!!!

    Good luck!  FWIW, I didn't poo during my delivery with DD.  I did with DS though.  I kinda thought I did, but DH's disgusted look on his face gave it away.  LOL, jerk!   Have a great delivery and enjoy!

    Eat! You will be starving if baby decides to take his time coming. I'd rather eat and poop all over than be starving like last time.

    lol Thanks for all the well wishes and happy thoughts! Yeah, I figure I should eat... *sigh* poor doctor. I guess that poo should be the least of my worries, I have a baby to push out!

    Pretty much everyone poos during L&D and seriously it'll slow things down if you're stressing about it because you'll be trying to keep the muscles you need for pushing LO out busy trying to hold poo/baby in...  Just go with the flow and I don't remember even once this time around the L&D staff saying anything about that happening...

    as like you this was a concern last time and i did not eat.

    The only thing i said to myself this time is that i would eat... alot.  :)  And not worry about any outcomes.  I waited 35 hours with out food.  :)

    Definitely eat.  I was starving during delivery and they would not let me have anything.  DH finally got some mini snickers and snuck a few to me when they were not looking.

    Women you guys need to eat - you need your strength, modesty is out the window.  if you poop, you probably wont even remember you did.

    and no one else will.  your hubby wont remember his name after he sees that baby come out of there
