Gag Reflex

Hi to all of you mommies-to-be,

My husband and I found out a couple of weeks ago that we are pregnant! Our first Dr. Appt will be on January 27 and we should be 8 weeks then. I've had some pretty "normal" pregnancy symptoms like exhaustion and nausea, but the strongest symptom for me so far is gagging. I gag many times a day and while sometimes it is triggered by smells or foods, most of the time I just suddenly feel gaggy. Has this happened to anyone else? I've read about pregnancy symptoms, but I've never read about this.

Re: Gag Reflex

  • I'm 5 weeks and I get this. Mostly triggered by smells/sights, stuff that grosses me out. Even things that didn't use to gross me out. I had burger king breakfast this morning, and didn't take the bag out of the car. When I got back in it an hour later the smell made me very gaggy. It smelled great when I first got it.

  • I get this too! Its sooooo annoying. It was a sometimes symptom of my AF but is magnified by a thousand since my BFP. I sometimes gag for no reason, no smell, taste, just gag! Glad I'm not alone!

  • I get this every morning and I'm not sure why. After getting up and waking up a bit, I gag, for no apparent reason, and once I dry heave for a few minutes, the reflex is gone. It's different than my m/s. That's a definite nauseous feeling. This is more just gaggy. I did this up until the day I gave birth and didn't have it again until I got pregnant this time around.
