Re: PG & TTC Check-in 1/16/12

  • I got a BFP last night, so I'm cautiously joining the PG ladies. I'm due 9/24. Big Smile

    Pregnant Questions

    1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Week 4. I've had some gas pains (which I thought were cramps) and I've been irritable. I thought it was proabaly just PMS. Ha ha!

    2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? I'll set up an appointment with the midwife when I get closer to 8 weeks.

    3. What are you looking forward to this week? I'm so overwhelmed and excited right now I can't even think. I'm looking forward to finding creative ways to tell my Mom. She is the only family member we are going to tell right now.

    4. Monday confession?  None

    5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital? ?cmcmillan

    6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? -7costanza

    7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? ?MrsEditorJax

    8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1 I'm wondering this as well.

    TTCing Questions

    1. What cycle are you on? Waiting to O or 2WW?

    2WW

    2. What are you looking forward to this week?

Book group tonight, I'm making pecan pie. So while I am looking forward to hanging out with my girlfriends, I'm really looking forward to eating the pecan pie. Smile

    3. Monday confession?

I'm very boring this week, nothing.

    4. How many days do you usually wait for AF to be late to POAS? ?newmommy74

I don't. AF has never been late, so I never POAS before we started treatments. Since we started treatments, even on break cycles, I will start testing 1-2 days before AF is due (but only if I have a stash of cheap HPTs in the house).

    5. If you use OPK, how do you remember to do one when you first wake up in the morning? I'm always so groggy and sometimes I forget. ?gakester8

I actually test when I get home from work. I have never been able to get a good positive OPK in the morning, but always get them in the afternoon. And I'm much better about remembering in the afternoon.

    6. If you decided on fertility treatments like IVF or IUF, how did you and your partner decide it was the next step? ?janet&mike

We got tired and stressed out trying on our own. We moved on about 1.5 years into TTC. It just reached a point where I needed someone else to take charge of everything, so we could go back to enjoying each other and not worrying about the timing of everything.

  • YAY DAWNIES!!!!!!!!!!! Party!!!

    Pregnant Questions

    1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains?

    35. i had a really unique painful pain on saturday. i described it to my recently pregnant friends, and they said maybe my cervix is softening, maybe they're contractions...not really sure.

    2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment?

next monday. dr promised me a quick u/s to check to see if baby is head-down or not! i'm excited to see what baby looks like right now!

    3. What are you looking forward to this week?

i'm totally taking the day off work tomorrow.

    4. Monday confession?

    see above.

    5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital? ?cmcmillan

popsicles? or is popcycle something i don't know about? i googled it and found a serbian brit-pop band....... either one, i'm not bringing any!

    6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? -7costanza

n/a. i only got light nausea from time to time.

    7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? ?MrsEditorJax

buy a car seat? h has been putting this off.

    8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1

my boss told me i was up for a promotion....i said thank you, walked out of his office, and ran back in and told him that since he was considering me, i felt we should have full disclosure. i was a few days shy of 13 weeks, so it wasn't too early.

    9. How do you cope when you're feeling super impatient for whatever next step is coming up? (A/S, hearing heartbeat, feeling baby move, labor, etc.) ?junter89

like right now i'm impatient in waiting to meet the baby!! you just have to deal with it...and remember that pregnancy itself is short, and pretty amazing. the next step will happen, if it was meant to be, and you'll have your outside-baby for life, but your inside baby is for only a very short time.

    10. Questions for next week?

    n/a

     TTCing Questions

    4. How many days do you usually wait for AF to be late to POAS? ?newmommy74

i had/have irregular periods. i normally started to POAS at about 36 days, and AF would usually start at about 40 something (and in some cases 80 or 90+ days...in my longer cycles i would test anywhere between every other day and weekly). if i was going out and i knew i'd be drinking, i'd always test that day. for my BFP, i had sore boobs at about 32 days, forgot to test on 33 days (wanted to use FMU), and i didn't test until 34 days and got my BFP then.

  • Congrats Dawn!

    Pregnant Questions

    1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains?

    7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? ?MrsEditorJax night weaning #1!

    TTCing Questions

    4. How many days do you usually wait for AF to be late to POAS? ?newmommy74 with #1 it was normally 1-2 days.  This time around I have been very impatient and tested around day 28, but my cycles have been a bit shorter than that since m/c (one was 23 days!)  I also have a stash of cheapies from amazon, so I didn't feel as bad using them.

    5. If you use OPK, how do you remember to do one when you first wake up in the morning? I'm always so groggy and sometimes I forget. ?gakester8 I always got better results in the afternoon. (get a + in the afternoon, when it had been - in the morning)

  • Yay Dawnies!

    Pregnant Questions

    1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Week 26. Sleeping has gotten more uncomfortable and I've gotten more complainy. The two might be related...

    2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? In about a month. But have to do my glucose test before then. Had my 1st appt with the Swedish midwives last week and really like the practice (so far).

    3. What are you looking forward to this week? Vacation! Flying to Las Vegas on Friday for a week!

    4. Monday confession? I'm planning on making chicken soup for lunch today, but only if our company has already left. My BIL brought my 14 month old nephew up for the weekend, and BIL's best friend came to visit us too. It's been great having the boys here but I'm ready for them to leave and don't want to cook anything interesting enough that they might delay their departure =).

    5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital? ?cmcmillan No idea...I'm still unsure about this whole labor and delivery part of pregnancy. Can't we just summon the stork when baby is ready to make her appearance?

    6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? -7costanza I had it 6ish weeks to 12ish weeks, phasing in over about a week, and also out over about a week. Mine was relatively mild -- constant nausea, hunger but not wanting to eat anything.

    7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? ?MrsEditorJax  We moved into a new house over the summer and I HATE some of the paint colors. I was determined to paint over the army-green and salmon pink right after moving in. But then I got pregnant and DH won't let me near paint. But he hates painting and probably won't do it so I'm debating finding some of the low-VOC paint and starting the project when he's not home...

    8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1 It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I told my boss around 13 weeks by waiting for a quiet afternoon when I knew he didn't have a meeting to run off to. I dropped by his office and asked if he had a minute to talk, then closed the door and said that I wanted to let him know that I'm pregnant. He was surprised for a minute, then happy for me and has been great about it ever since.

    9. How do you cope when you're feeling super impatient for whatever next step is coming up? (A/S, hearing heartbeat, feeling baby move, labor, etc.) ?junter89 I freak out shortly before each "milestone" and have to keep telling myself that I hadn't been bleeding, so everything is probably (hopefully) fine. I also asked lots of questions on this weekly check-in that usually made me feel better. Not sure why I was always so convinced that something was terribly wrong immediately before each appointment, but usually not the rest of the time. Now that I can feel her move, it's gotten a bit better.

    10. Questions for next week?
When did you buy "the big stuff" for baby? I'm pretty sure no one will get us the expensive things (crib, stroller, car seat). If it makes a difference, I'm not having a shower since we're new to the area.

  • We got our first BFP a week ago, I've been lurking and waiting to get my blood draw results before posting. EDD is 9/20/12

    Pregnant Questions

    1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains?  Halfway through week 4. No new pains just the occasional cramping or gas...ugh

    2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? I have my 3rd blood draw Wednesday, first two came back with really good results but I had a bit of spotting last week so they decided to do 1 more draw. First real appointment is 2/14.

    3. What are you looking forward to this week? The snow!

    4. Monday confession? It's a day off for me so I am happy :)

    5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital? ?cmcmillan Not sure what these are?

    6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? -7costanza So far so good, feeling just fine

    7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? ?MrsEditorJax We're moving the end of August/beginning of September...I am determined to have a nursery for the baby before their arrival

    8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1 I haven't yet, waiting until 2nd trimester

    9. How do you cope when you're feeling super impatient for whatever next step is coming up? (A/S, hearing heartbeat, feeling baby move, labor, etc.) ?junter89 I am trying to distract myself with things I need to get done before the next big thing. Right now I am studying for my boards on 1/31 so that is helping occupy me while waiting for my first u/s on 2/14.

    10. Questions for next week? Does anyone wake-up in the morning and because they feel so 'normal' wonder: "Am I still pg"?

  • Pregnant Questions

    1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? Wk. 21, my back has been pretty sore and starting to get exhausted much more easily.

    2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Ummm, sometime in Feb. I think.  Just a regular check up.

    3. What are you looking forward to this week? Short work week.

    4. Monday confession? I have today off from work, Lucy just went down for a nap, and I plan on sitting on my ass, surfing the web, watching tv, and eating cookies.

    5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital? That had never occurred to me.  I really need to start thinking about these things if I'm hoping to have a VBAC.  I might add it to the list assuming they have a freezer for me to use.

    6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? Started right at 6 weeks and came on pretty quickly.  Lasted until about 14-15 wks.

    7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? Oh, setting up the crib?  I'm way more relaxed about this kid than I was the last. :)

    8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this.  I blabbed really early to my boss and a friend.  We're all very close though.  The rest I shared the picture we'd taken with Lucy and a pumpkin with our ultrasound on it.  We're very low key in my office.

    9. How do you cope when you're feeling super impatient for whatever next step is coming up? (A/S, hearing heartbeat, feeling baby move, labor, etc.) ? I try to just be excited and keep my mind on other things.  We have a pretty busy life in general so it isn't too hard.

    8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1 We do a 'check in' at our weekly team meeting where we update the team on how we're doing in one word. I 'checked in' pregnant, which people loved. I'd told my boss the week prior, but she wasn't surprised because we'd talked about babies a lot.

    this sounds really fun!

  • 1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains?  35. Just increased pressure & sharp pains in cervix

    2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? 25th. Strep B test

    3. What are you looking forward to this week? A snow day

    4. Monday confession? I had my baby shower this weekend, then went online & completed the baby shopping this morning. I haven't told DH mostly cause I don't want him to be like "how much did you spend? did we need all that? why..." Not like he won't notice when $400 worth of products show up at the house!

    5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital? ?cmcmillan no. Providence has them.

    6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? -7costanza I had morning sickness from 5.5-13.5 weeks. It's also coming back a bit in this last month.

    7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? ?MrsEditorJax Powerwash the driveway

    8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1 My boss is awesome, so I just told him in our weekly status meeting. it was an easy conversation

    9. How do you cope when you're feeling super impatient for whatever next step is coming up? (A/S, hearing heartbeat, feeling baby move, labor, etc.) ?junter89 I don't have a good answer. I'm quite the obsessive person. It does help when it's #2+. I've been so busy with my toddler, I haven't been able to obsess as much

  • Pregnant Questions

    1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? - 25 weeks. Still feeling oddly good. Waiting for that to change.

    2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? - 2/7. Glucose testing. Boo.

    3. What are you looking forward to this week? - Not much actually. It's my long week at work and with the snow in the forecast, I'm really dreading it (I work 3-11:30pm)

    4. Monday confession? - I ate 3 chocolate chip cookies for breakfast and kept my child entertained at the grocery store by feeding him a piece of banana bread from Starbucks.

    5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital? ?cmcmillan - I didn't last time. But I think if I want some, I'll just make DH run over to the floor I work on (deliverign at the hospital I work at) because we have them. Much easier than bringing my own!

    6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? -7costanza - With Jake it was right at 6 weeks and it was all of a sudden. With this one it was around 7 weeks, came on all at once and lasted longer. It was dreadful. I still get nauseated.

    7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? ?MrsEditorJax - Get my house organized and ready for 2u2

    8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1 - I told my manager earlier than I planned each time. The problem with my job is that being pregnant means you can't take care of certain types of patients. So people have to know that you're pregnant. Then I waited to tell coworkers until after we told our parents. Coworkers pretty much just found out on FB.

    9. How do you cope when you're feeling super impatient for whatever next step is coming up? (A/S, hearing heartbeat, feeling baby move, labor, etc.) ?junter89 - I don't. I obsess about it and drive myself crazy ;-)

    TTCing Questions

    4. How many days do you usually wait for AF to be late to POAS? ?newmommy74 - when we were TTC with Jake I was too impatient to wait until I was late. I got my BFP on 11 DPO so I wasn't even due for AF yet. With this one it was unplanned, I got BFNs a week after AF was due and didn't get my BFP until I was 3 weeks late.

    5. If you use OPK, how do you remember to do one when you first wake up in the morning? I'm always so groggy and sometimes I forget. ?gakester8 - I usually did one late morning and late afternoon.

    Pregnant Questions

    1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains?

    We're 36w4d today! Holy crap.

New aches/pains: Sciatic stuff's gotten worse (yay?), and in the past two days, I've had some raised stretch marks become pretty itchy. O_x It's annoying.

    2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment?

Thursday! First internal exam and, hopefully, finally going over the birth plan, haha. (Other things keep coming up!)

    3. What are you looking forward to this week?

    Hitting full term on Thursday!

    4. Monday confession?

    I don't have anything good here. :/

    5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital? ?cmcmillan

Nah. Too much hassle to keep them frozen!

    6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? -7costanza

I didn't ever really have morning sickness, though I would get nauseated from hunger sometimes... That came out of nowhere, basically, and disappeared the same way.

    7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? ?MrsEditorJax

    Get the baby clothes organised...somehow!

    8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1

    n/a; I am a SAHW.

    9. How do you cope when you're feeling super impatient for whatever next step is coming up? (A/S, hearing heartbeat, feeling baby move, labor, etc.) ?junter89

Try to forget how far away it is (if it's something scheduled, like the A/S), mainly. And just try to live through each day focusing on the neat things that have already happened!

  • 1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains?  25 weeks. Nothing new just the same old issues.

    2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Had my GTT this morning and I didn't throw up the drink! I'm scheduled for an echocardiogram in the next 2 weeks to see what is going with my heart murmur.

    3. What are you looking forward to this week? 4 day work week!

    4. Monday confession?

    5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital? ?cmcmillan I didn't the first time and won't this time. I think if I really wanted them the nurses would have given them to me but I was in too much pain to think of food.

    6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? -7costanza I had morning sickness from week 6-12 and it seemed to hit me after lunch for some reason. It seemed to come out of nowhere and then was gone one day...not that I want it back.

    7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? ?MrsEditorJax Clean my house out of all the junk. I'm working on it this weekend and probably until the baby comes.

    8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1 Had my bosses in a meeting and told them that they were going to have to find a long term sub for the end of the year. They are both dads so they took it really well. I haven't told everyone at work...they can figure it out on their own.

    9. How do you cope when you're feeling super impatient for whatever next step is coming up? (A/S, hearing heartbeat, feeling baby move, labor, etc.) ?junter89 I'm not a very good at coping. I try to ignore it but the night before I can never sleep! Once I felt the baby move then I tried everything to keep feeling him move but I know that his kicks will soon get really strong and I'll be wishing he was quiet!

    1. What cycle are you on? Waiting to O or 2WW? cycle 6, 2WW

    2. What are you looking forward to this week? going to a friend's birthday party

    3. Monday confession? I'm so happy about all this pretty snow! I know not everyone else is appreciating it...

    4. How many days do you usually wait for AF to be late to POAS? ?newmommy74 I used to test 2 days early, but getting so many BFN got depressing, so now I wait until 1 day late.

    7. Questions for next week?  My cycles have been 28 days long the last 3 cycles. SRM told me to test 14 days after IUI (our 1st one), but that would be day 31. I took an HCG trigger shot on day 15 and got a +OPK day 16. When would you test? We're having a party on day 30, so I wouldn't want to test that day.

  • Congrats Dawnies! 9/24 is my best friends bday - your LO would have great company. =)

    1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains?  38w5d at the moment. LO definitely dropped earlier in the week, so I can feel her pushing on my pelvis when I walk. Not unbearable, but definitely uncomfortable!

    2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? I had an appt this afternoon. I am between 3-4 cm and 50% effaced! Doc said that if I go to the hospital at this point with contractions, they will NOT send me home! So crazy to think about! Nora could show up at any moment! =D

    3. What are you looking forward to this week? The possibility of a few snow days so I can stay home from work! And Nora possibly arriving!

    4. Monday confession? A part of me wants Nora to wait till next week to arrive, because between my DH and I, we know SO many people with birthdays this week, and I want my girl to have a day of her own. Of course, I'll be thrilled no matter what day she arrives, but that's my guilty confession. =)

    5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital? ?cmcmillan Not popsicles, but we are taking go-gurts, pudding and possibly bananas - things I can eat easily that will also provide energy and sustenance.

    6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? -7costanza - I had slight morning sickness - I only actually threw up 3-4 times, but I dry heaved every morning without fail for weeks and weeks. Started around 5 1/2 - 6 weeks. Stayed pretty consistent the whole time. I think it finally began going away around 14 weeks.

    7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? ?MrsEditorJax - get my sister's 18th birthday present and card in the mail! Her bday is on Friday.

    8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1 - Well, my work has a resident gossip (she's a sweet woman, she just can't keep a secret!) So I told her, and within 2 days everyone else knew.

    9. How do you cope when you're feeling super impatient for whatever next step is coming up? (A/S, hearing heartbeat, feeling baby move, labor, etc.) ?junter89 - I've been having inconsistent cramps and BH every day for the last week or so, which makes labor feel imminent and has driven me crazy a few times! Best advice I've heard so far - if I feel like I'm in early labor, IGNORE IT. I bake, I run errands, I watch a movie, anything that won't have me obsessing over the timing of my contractions. My body won't let me miss labor, and if I need to pay closer attention to it because things are happening, it will let me know. This has provided me a lot of peace of mind the last few days!

     Pregnant Questions

    1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? 31 weeks tomorrow.  Feeling pretty good, actually, other than my hips when I sleep. 2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? 1/18, regular check up.  I'm hoping my BP is lower this time than it was last time.  3. What are you looking forward to this week? I loved having a three day weekend.  I'm NOT looking forward to the possibility or more snow.... 4. Monday confession? I'm sad that my pup was sick all weekend, but secretly I didn't mind since he was super snuggly and usually he's not one to cuddly willingly. 5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital? ?cmcmillan  I don't know what I'm bringing yet.  I'm not sure popsicles would come to mind, though.  6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? -7costanza  I was super lucky and my m/s was mild nausea.  It was pretty persistent but worse if I didn't eat.  So I ate.  A lot.  It started around week 7 and lasted until week 15.  7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? ?MrsEditorJax Her closet.  Its totally doable, I just need to actually go pick up the closet system and have DH's friend come help him install it.  8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1  I had to tell super early.  I was scheduled to go OOT for a month in my first trimester and I had some bleeding early on that freaked me out, so I told them when I was 6 wks to get out of going OOT.  I would not have wanted to tell that early in a perfect world. 9. How do you cope when you're feeling super impatient for whatever next step is coming up? (A/S, hearing heartbeat, feeling baby move, labor, etc.) ?junter89  I don't cope well with that, I liked the suggestion of keeping busy.  This pregnancy has been a series of mini milestones for me since I've had a lot of anxiety.  I just set up something to look forward to every few weeks even if its something small so that my countdown isn't too far in the future.

    10. Questions for next week?  I know this has been asked before, frequently, but can we have the 2nd time moms list the must haves for the hospital bag?  I need to get mine packed in the next few weeks and I have no idea what I need and what I don't.

  • 1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains?

35 weeks. The last few days my hands and feet have gotten more swollen and really itchy! Called my dr. about it and they had me come in for a blood test to check for Cholestasis (?) and luckily things look good and that is not the cause... so now to go buy some benadryl cream for my hands. =)

    2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? The 20th, Strep B test I believe

    3. What are you looking forward to this week? Hopefully having some snow days and working from home

    4. Monday confession? I have been eating horrible this week! All I want is ice cream and brownies...

    5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital?  Yep I'm planning to (if we remember)

    6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? Mine was more gradual nausea from about weeks 8-13

    7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? I am determined to finally paint our wooden letters with the baby's name and put them up in her room above the crib.

    8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? Luckily my boss is really easy to talk too, she knew about my previous miscarriage since I took a couple days off for that, and when we found out we were pregnant again she was really excited

    9. How do you cope when you're feeling super impatient for whatever next step is coming up? I try and focus on other exciting things coming up before the baby in February... My birthday, My DH's birthday, Super Bowl

    Pregnant Questions

    1. What week are you in? 13. Any new aches or pains? Nope still pretty much normal aside from the raging hunger and fatigue :)

    2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? Feb 6th-- get quad bloodwork taken. I am really wanting to get past all this preliminary testing.

    3. What are you looking forward to this week? Ugh, not much. The weekend?

    4. Monday confession? My husband gave me a ride to work today (I normally ride my bicycle), and I took a taxi home. I love taxis.

    5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital? ?cmcmillan I have never heard of using these during labor. But then I haven't a clue about it really as I am a FTM.

    6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? -7costanza I lucked out. Didn't have any.

    7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? ?MrsEditorJax. Um, getting the baby room really into a baby room. This is going to require a herculean reorganization.

    8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1. I am still dreading this... I am up for going from temp to permanent, and I am getting close to showing before that happens. I am certainly not going to say anything until I am made a "permanent" employee.

    9. How do you cope when you're feeling super impatient for whatever next step is coming up? (A/S, hearing heartbeat, feeling baby move, labor, etc.) ?junter89. Now that I am past my NT scan, I am feeling a little more relaxed about it all. I am really just too busy to think about it most of the time. Though I am obsessed recently about getting this new genetic test for Trisomy21-- MaterniT21. We will see if I can get that done soon.

    10. Questions for next week? Nothing.

    TTCing Questions

    4. How many days do you usually wait for AF to be late to POAS? ?newmommy74 My luteal phase was only 12 days on the best of cycles, so I would never test before 12dpo, and if I did it was usually just hours before my period would start. This got depressing, so I would just wait it out.

    5. If you use OPK, how do you remember to do one when you first wake up in the morning? I'm always so groggy and sometimes I forget. ?gakester8 I thought it works better in the PM, so I would hold my afternoon pee until I got home from work, and then I would do the OPK.

    6. If you decided on fertility treatments like IVF or IUF, how did you and your partner decide it was the next step? ?janet&mike (I answered this in a rambling way last week I think)

  • I sadly have lost this pregnancy. I started spotting soon after my BFP, and my HCG levels were not doubling (or even close, really). We are going to start trying again right away, and my OB wants to meet with me soon to discuss taking progesterone, baby aspirin and folic acid so I'm hopeful the next time will be successful.

I need to get a stroller!8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1I just blurted it out to my boss one day. He turned purple. 9. If you use OPK, how do you remember to do one when you first wake up in the morning? • 1. What week are you in? Any new aches or pains? 23, nothing new2. When is your next appointment? Will anything special happen at that appointment? 2 weeks, we'll discuss my glucose tolerance test3. What are you looking forward to this week? The rest of my California vacation (aka completely avoiding the snow!)4. Monday confession? I got food poisoning earlier this week, and for the first time absolutely hated feeling baby girl move. I just wanted her to pretend she wasn't there for a few days.5. Are you taking popcycles with you to the hospital? ?cmcmillan No, I'll have actual food that is easy to eat and digest like yogurt, string cheese, etc. to keep my energy up for the marathon of labor! But I also won't be in a hospital.6. If you had morning sickness, when did it start? And did it come on all at once, or gradually? -7costanza I can't remember when it started exactly (right around 6-7 weeks) but it was all at once. One night I cooked a giant batch of taco meat for dinner and ate a bunch, the next morning the residual smell made me want to hurl and I had to be careful what I ate for the next few months!7. What is something you are determined to get done before the baby comes? ?MrsEditorJax I don't really have anything, I just want to make sure baby has a safe place to sleep and the bare necessities to get by at least!8. How did you tell your work that you were pregnant? I am dreading this. ?amandaleigh1 I was dreading it, too. I rehearsed with my husband and kept it short. I asked to speak to my boss alone, and said something like, "I just wanted to let you know I'm pregnant and due in the middle of May. I'll keep working up until then, but then I'll be leaving to care for my baby (It's not a career-job with maternity leave and the like). I wanted to give you plenty of heads up, but I'll still be around for awhile."9. How do you cope when you're feeling super impatient for whatever next step is coming up? (A/S, hearing heartbeat, feeling baby move, labor, etc.) ?junter89 ...There are ways to cope with that? ;-) We usually record the previous step somehow and I refer back to that. So we took sound recordings of baby's heartbeat early on, and when I was impatient for the next listen or the a/s or feeling movement I'd listen to my baby's heart beating away and feel contented again!10. Questions for next week? Are you actually interviewing pediatricians? Do people do that? I'm picky on doctors, so not sure how to find one I'll like, but pediatricians don't seem to do interviews the way midwives do. TTCing Questions
    4. How many days do you usually wait for AF to be late to POAS? ?newmommy74  I usually tested a few days before my missed AF as long as my temps were still high. I couldn't help it, and I'd rather the negative pee-stick than the surprise AF visit. I did get a BFN before my BFP on the cycle that led to my baby girl, so don't give up hope if it's negative!
    5. If you use OPK, how do you remember to do one when you first wake up in the morning? I'm always so groggy and sometimes I forget. ?gakester8 They work best if you use them with your second morning urine (so around midday), so that's what I did! No grogginess by then! I also took a second test in the evening when I knew the time was getting close so I didn't miss my surge. Other thing I learned for me, I needed to keep testing after I got a + because I would have a + for several days and usually O'd on the 2nd or 3rd day of +OPKs. FF got confused if I only put in one day of + and my signs wouldn't match up.
