My sister is 20 weeks pregnant with twin girls. They are also in the middle of remodeling 75% of their house, so they are just a bit busy ;-). She asked me to make up a list of 'must haves' for her. Their house is a little small, so she was thinking about just getting two swings and two RNP's, and no bouncy seats. What are your thoughts on that?
Also-any recs on items for her would be great. She wants to get a registry list together.
Thanks ladies! I don't know how you guys do it, my one daughter is quite the handful; can't image doing it with two!
Re: "Must-Haves" for twins
I have 2 swings 2 RnPs and no bouncy seats and that works perfect for us! The only other things that I use on a daily basis and couldnt live without would be our video monitor https://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Touch-Digital-Monitor/dp/B004B762AK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326692554&sr=8-1 the play gym https://www.amazon.com/Tiny-Love-Gymini-Activity-Deluxe/dp/B000067K0L/ref=sr_1_2?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1326692595&sr=1-2 my breastfriend twin nursing pillow https://www.amazon.com/My-Brest-Friend-Deluxe-Nursing/dp/B0032Z81M4/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1326692658&sr=1-1 and my pump https://www.amazon.com/Medela-Pump-Style-Advanced-Breast/dp/B004HWXCJS/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1326692720&sr=1-1.
Congrats and good luck to your sister, it sounds like she's got a lot on her plate right now!
I remembered a few other items we use daily and couldnt live without!
Swaddle blankets: We use a mix of miracle blankets for night time https://www.amazon.com/Miracle-Blanket--Baby-Swaddling--Beige/dp/B000G0L2TM/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1326692833&sr=1-1 and Swaddlemes for naps in the swing https://www.amazon.com/Summer-Infant-Swaddleme-Microfleece-Large/dp/B0009QYTIE/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1326692888&sr=1-1
and lots and lots of receiving blankets and burp rags!
i sent you a private message with some lists i have gathered.
good luck to you all
i few things that we are getting - which were must haves for our first child, are:
2-4 newborn halo sleep sacks
two swings (already have one)
video monitor
graco snug ride double stroller (the ones that are cheap and you just snap the carseats into)
my brest friend bfing pillow (for twins)
another carseat (obviously)
another pack n play (so we have two)
another exersaucer but not for awile since that's like for 5 or 6 month olds but it was a lifesaver with my son
im sure there is more that im forgetting from our list.
We couldn't live without the Rock N Plays, Halo Sleep sacks, Sleep Sheep, and our new one is the FP Discover N Grow Kick and Play Piano.

2 Boppy pillows and 2 bouncy chairs for sure. Also, enough bottles to not have to wash them all.the.time. We used the Dr. Brown's pitcher (actually 2 because we had to use 2 types of formula) and I thought those were a total lifesaver.
Plenty of extra changing pad covers because you're doubling your chances of one getting soiled!
I would wait to see what your two like. Mine are not fans of the bouncers at all. Even now they are *just* tolerating them. They love the swing, but we do get by with just one of them.
We have so much baby stuff it make it hard to have enough room for us in the den.
Me too!!
Thank you for this post. This is my first pregnancy and I am just a little overwhelmed about all the stuff I am going to need or really going to use. Thank you!
I think she should wait and see what the babies like before buying duplicates of everything. All babies like/want different things, and multiples are no different in that regard.
We survived with just 2 bouncy seats at the beginning and finally used the swing once the babies were big enough. We traded off the swing between the babies and finally broke down and purchased a 2nd swing when it was clear they both preferred to swing to sleep. I would have been mad if we bought and assembled 2 swings to find out one didn't like it. With modern technology making products so readily available....there are some things you can hold off on buying up front.
We kept our babies in swings until 6 months when we finally transitioned them to cribs.
Congrats to your sister!
swaddles, activity mats, 2 bouncy chairs, 2 boppies, lotsa burp clothes, my babies dont care for the swings so maybe start with one, baby einstein which we started at 3mo, LOVE x infinity
I would have her at least get one bouncy seat, we have 4 bouncy seats (2 on main floor, one upstairs and one in basement) and it is great to have the boys hang out in them and they will nap easily in them too. 2 of ours also rock (Maclarens) and we have used these the most.
Others items as PP mentioned, 2 boppys, 2 PNP, 1 swing which they love and thinking about getting a second one and will get 1 exersaucer or jumperoo to make sure they like before getting another if needed.
Also 14 each of Dr. Brown 4oz and 8oz bottles and Dr. Brown's mixing pitcher makes life so much easier making lots of bottles.
You're a great aunt already!
