I don't have much to go on...but I heard it on the radio over the weekend. It is about a father and son and follows the son's life growing up until it ends with them at the church before the son's wedding. The son is thanking the father for everything he gave him in his life, etc. I thought it was by George Strait, but I can't find it on ITunes. Any help...sorry I don't have more info.
Re: What is this song.... (country)
My husband is a big country freak...sorry, I meant "fan!" He loves this song, but I think there's kind of an obvious WTH factor in the last verse.
The refrain for the first couple of verses, about fishing and driving a car, are "I've been dreaming day and night about the fun we'll have. Just me and you doing what I've always wanted to..."
And then the last one is about getting married. They changed up the refrain for the last verse, but if they'd have kept it exactly the same, the kid would have been REALLY excited about his wedding night!
My husband hates it when I dissect his country music. I've ruined like 10 songs completely for him.
