When will it get better?

I'm 13 weeks pregnant with twins. I'm so exhausted all day, and then sleep as much as I can at night. I haven't been very hungry and eating makes me feel sick. Same with drinking water. I want to do Doctor Luke's suggestions, but I haven't been able to stomach that much food. Is there an end in sight?

Re: When will it get better?

  • I was well into my second tri before I felt better and could eat better.

  • It really was like a flip of a switch for me. At around 15 weeks, my nausea just disappeared.

  • I didn't have much trouble with food as long as I stayed away from meat. However, the exhaustion was overwhelming. From day one I felt like I had been drugged with some sort of sleeping medicine every single day...all day. I wasn't even really safe to drive! It was awful.

Around 15 weeks I started noticing an uptick in my energy level, and so far it's still pretty good.

So, hang in there...I really think you'll be feeling a bit better in a couple of weeks!!

    Congrats on your twins!

  • I felt better around 15ish weeks. But the tiredness did return in 3rd tri. Hang in there momma!

  • I remember feeling like I had been hit by a bus at 14 weeks...things got better from there.  I'm not nearly as tired all the time like I was then.  Feel better soon!

  • I'm still exhausted all of the time, but my all day nausea disappeared in week 11. Now I only get nauseous if I go too long without eating.

    Hope you feel better soon.

  • Things got better for me nausea-wise around 13 weeks.  I still get nauseous every evening from 7 pm 'til bedtime, so I go to bed early and it's manageable.  my energy level is still a bit variable.  I'm hoping  17 or 18 weeks will give me an energy boost!

  • I didn't have any problems with nausea or morning sickness, but I haven't had an increased appetite either.  I just recently started feeling less fatigued and I'm 18 weeks with triplets.  I don't drink a gallon of water a day either, but I make sure I drink at least half of my body weight in ounces.  I was doing that before I got pregnant though.  Maybe you could try smoothies?  They might make you feel less sick than solid food.  I drink green smoothies...they work wonders!

  • I was miserable the entire first trimester.  Second was a breath of fresh air...I ate, slept, had energy, could breathe, smiled!!!!  That was like a vacation.   I had relief around week 18.   Cheers to a healthy pregnancy!

  • hang in there, you will have lots of ups and downs, and you will soon want to punch people in the face when they talk about how great 2nd tri is, and you thing, i'm still waiting. i kinda went from problem to problem, ms ended at 14 then acid reflux, then stretching pain, then well you get it, i have had great energy the past couple weeks, but i have trouble moving around, i'm slowing down fast.

just remember you are 6-8 weeks ahead of singleton (unless you are tiny like me then 8-10) and you have double the everything, and are moving at a much faster speed through this whole pregnancy, I hope you get the glow and energy soon, but if not you will make it! you are a champion!
