I am preparing the menu for DS birthday party next weekend. It's at 2pm, so we're doing a lot of snacks / appetizers / dips. But I feel like I serve the same things at every party (taco dip, bacon wrapped water chestnuts, spinich dip, veggies & dip)
Please pass along your favorite recipes!
P.S. the audience is mostly adults - only a few children.

Re: Recipe Request - Apps/Snacks/Dips
I haven't tried this yet, but it looks good, and can be used for veggies and/or chips.

Beer Dip
2 8oz cream cheese(room temp)
1cup beer
1 packet ranch dip(hidden valley)
2cups shredded cheddar cheese(I somtimes use more)
Make the day before. Mix all in a blender or food processor untill well blended. It will be slightly liquidy, refigerate overnight. Serve with cubed bread. (I like to use sour dough)
Buffalo chicken dip is always a hit for us.
I also do a sausage dip that's really easy - Brown 1 lb hot sausage, drain the grease, add 1 can of Rotel (semi drained) and 1 bar of cream cheese. Stir over heat until melted and mixed together and serve with Fritos scoops.
You can also do pigs in a blanket with lil smokies wrapped in crescent rolls.

Sounds REALLY weird- but this is SO good. I usually cut recipe in half and cook in a pie dish. I have also done this in a mini crackpot and mixed preserves in and subbed apricot preserves for raspberry. I sometimes do extra cream cheese and less mayo too.

My dip is not fancy, but it was something my gma always made and I loved it!
1 block of cream cheese, softened
1 packet of Italian dressing seasonings
V8 Hot and Spicy
Mix the Italian dressing and cream cheese, then add some V8. You just add enough to make it creamy and orange. We put it on a vegetable tray. I have made it for several parties and always get compliments.
-Bacon-wrapped dates
-Baked brie (there are tons of recipes out there, basically, just top a wheel of brie with whatever jam you like, wrap in puff pasty and bake)
If this is a morning/afternoon party you could do mini quiches?

Homemade french onion dip! I made this the first time last weekend and it was awesome -
- 2 sweet yellow onoins
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/3 cup sour creem
- 2 ounces of cream cheese
- 1/3 cup mayo (I just made my mayo home made - 1 egg yolk with 1 tablespoon lemon juice, slowly whisk 1/3 c vege oil in to lemon juice/yolk mixture)
You caramelize the onions (cooked in butter/olive oil for 30-50 minutes until light brown then add everything to food processor.
