I posted yesterday regarding my scary NT scan and how it came back with a 1 in 47 chance that the baby might have Downs. But we were still upbeat because the actual NT Scan was good, it was just the blood work that was bad. And heck 98% is great odds.
Well I got a call from the doctor today, she explained that because my scan was normal yesterday they didn't call a doctor into the room to discuss the actual scan with us. But she was looking at the still shots from the Scan and saw a few concerning things regarding the fluid under the baby so she wanted us to come back and repeat the test.
We went back and much to our horror it was exactly as she thought. The tech yesterday measured incorrectly and there was significant fluid under the baby making our chances of chromosomal abnormalities shoot from 1 in 47 to 1 in 2.
Needless to say I was a mess. We opted to do the CVS which I had been completely against. But due to the fact we were no longer just discussing Downs, and were now given odds that the baby could have life ending issues, we decided to do it.
That test is horrible despite how wonderful our doctor was. In any case we find out the results on Monday. Could definitely use any thoughts and prayers:)
Pregnancy is such a beautiful thing, it's always hard to believe when you find yourself in that 1% ![]()

T&P to you and your lil one.
Fingers crossed everything is okay!
I wanted to share with you my sister's story, if you don't mind.
She had her NT scan, and her results were 1 in 5. She had the blood work, the amnio, etc. The results all came back with chromosomal abnormalities, trisomy, etc. Her high risk doctors all told her that basically something is wrong with the baby, and to be prepared.
She was a mess throughout the remainder of her pregnancy, and her baby girl was born happy and completely healthy in October.
I hope your situation turns out to be the same!

Thanks so much for that positive story
Now that truly is a miracle baby. I really hope mine turns out to be the same way. A happy ending would be amazing.
