Sucky Amazon Mom changes
Oh, I am so frustrated. Unless you sign up for Amazon prime, you don't get a discount anymore for diapers (beginning Jan 24). Bye bye Amazon. Costco and I will once again be renewing our diaper love affair.

I saw that they changed something with the subscribe and save discounts, but didn't pay attention.
Do you know if the free Amazon Prime qualifies you?
I may be ordering a ton of diapers before Jan. 24 to get the discount. Oh how the UPS guy will hate me even more . . .

I'm in an angry chat with Amazon customer service right now because I just discovered we need more diapers before our next S&S shipment goes out in February. Yeah, they've blocked the extra delivery option for diapers. And they're saying that it's because of "limited inventory" (after originally telling me that diapers were never eligible for extra delivery, which is a bunch of horse hockey)
Right - so how come I just went and placed a new S&S order for the same damn diapers and got the same delivery estimate I would have if I had gotten extra delivery??? And I bet if I had gone on yesterday, or come back after the 24th, the extra delivery option would exist.
I hate being lied to.
I just got their email too, I may re-sign up with a new email but it'll only be good for 3 months. Mine expires in Feb so I will probably order a bunch of stuff before then.
Belize - keep complaining, usually amazon c.s. is good and you should at least get some $$ from them.
I too will probably be going back to COSTCO. Maybe if enough people stop buying on amazon, they'll change.
Yeah, I saw that email too. I may start getting my diapers at Costco again (I need to check on the price difference).
We already joined my step-brother's account of Amazon Prime. I'm paying him $40 a year so that he can share it with DH and I. For anyone who's interested in sharing a Prime membership, this is how you do it. Right now we have my step-brother, his wife, me and DH all linked up to the same account.

We bought Prime. It's been totally worth it, IMO.
I've placed 46 orders in the past 3 months, for everything from Christmas gifts to toilet paper. Those orders don't even count my DH's orders, my sister's orders, or my BIL's orders (we gave them access...)
Everything has shown up on my doorstop, in less than 2 days (except for a couple things that were backordered, or 3rd party seller items...), and was either comparable in price or cheaper than at the store.
It seems like a lot of money, but it's really not that bad if you look at it over the course of the year.
What's the difference in price between placing a new order and just getting an extra delivery. It's pretty clear to me that they blocks extra shipments b/c they expect everyone to do it. We just got an extra shipment a few days ago and had no problem.
Yep, this is us. I think we placed like 120 orders in the year 2011...
for me there isn't one, and ultimately that's what I ended up doing. they offered to have me place a new order and get one day shipping for free, but in order to get that you can't do S&S and it would have cost more. though if i had still been getting the 30% discount on diapers, it would have cost 10% more to do the new S&S order.
it was the principal of it. if i had ordered even one day earlier it probably would have been allowed. and if you own up to that being the reason you blocked it, fine. but when you try to pull some crap about it being limited inventory and that's why you won't allow extra delivery, then i get irritated because i know you're just spouting crap.
I already have Prime, so there's no big difference for me. It saves me a ton of time vs. going to the store, so I can't complain.
P.S. If you have a .edu email account, you can sign up for Prime through Amazon Student at half price.
For me with 2 in diapers, I have a Target Red Card so I get 5% off and can get free shipping on orders over $50 so that has worked out well for me. I love Target diapers, though I am not crazy about their wipes. I always used my Amazon mom for wipes that I liked, but my subscription ran out so now I need to figure out what I want to do for wipes.
ETA: I just ordered a huge box of wipes on Amazon for $25 and got free super saver shipping--5-8 business days, but I don't need them any sooner, so there is always that option. For me $79/year is too much (and too tempting to have free Amazon shipping!).
Oh. I get that part of it. I just wondered why Amazon bothered to block. Although the point about 20% versus 30% makes sense.
