1st Trimester

pinkish mucus...

I went to the doctor Tuesday for some slight pink spotting and we had an U/S. We saw the baby and the heartbeat. The sac measured 5w 3 days and according to when I ovulated it would put me at 6 wks 6 days. The HB was 111. I've had a few times where I would wipe and there would be pinkish mucus. Not a lot by any means... but what could that be?

Neither. I have been kinda itchy down there so, I wondered about a UTI or yeast infection.... they did a urinalysis on tues but never said anything was wrong with it?!

  • What did your doctor say about measuring behind a week?  Was he/she concerned about that?

I'd call about the pink spotting and see what they say. For me, that wasn't ever a good sign, but many women do spot and have normal pregnancies.  Call your doc.

Thanks for the advice. My OB knows about the "spotting" I wouldn't even call it that, it's seriously just pinkish mucus once a day. Not much at all. That is why I had the U/S Tues. I go back on the 27th for another U/S. She didn't say anything about measuring behind because I am so early that we hadn't done an U/S to date the pregnancy.

I've had two M/C's before, both times, I had bleeding/spotting (not like this time) and when they did an U/S they didnt' see a baby, HB or anything... this time we did see the baby & HB.

Ah, okay.  If your doctor wasn't concerned, then I wouldn't stress about it either. Ha - easier said than done, or what?  I also had 2 m/cs before having DS, so I know how stressful it is.  Best of luck to you on the 27th!

  • Thanks. I just went to the bathroom and had some bright red blood on the toilet paper :(

I totally don't "feel" pregnant either :( but my HCG's have been good and we saw the baby/HB two days ago... Now its just a waiting game I guess.

  • It could be implant bleeding - I had it with my 2nd daughter, faint but definitely there. This pregnancy I've had a lot of bleeding (to the degree that I was convinced I'd miscarried at one point) but turns out I had a huge blood clot in my uterus - fortunately it has mostly worked its way out/been absorbed by my body and as of my u/s this week everythins is peachy keen. Still, any kind of spotting or bleeding is a bit nervewracking.
