freezing solids question (when to thin)

When you are making solids to freeze do you use water/formula/bm to thin them out before you freeze or after you thaw? How much do you add usually if you do it before? I am using the baby bullet.

Re: freezing solids question (when to thin)

  • I always do it before.  There is no measured amount I just add it until it gets to the right consistency. So it depends on the food and on how old little one is and how thick they like their food at that age.

  • I don't. I freeze as is after pureeing it - and then once it's defrosted, I add it when he's about to eat it...so I can see how much it needs, if it needs any, etc.

This is what I plan on doing as well.  From what a couple of friends have told me, the thawing process can sometimes thin the solids out a bit.  I'm going to wait and see what the consistency is after thawing before I start adding any formula to thin or cereal to thicken.
