I went in and they took a peek to look for the sex today. This practice doesn't usually do it this early, but they looked because I asked. Baby was totally cooperative, but they couldn't really say for sure! I never saw "three lines" or anything girly, and there was definitely something there. I think what's throwing me off is that a) With Leo and Charlie it was totally obvious and I could see (at the risk of being crude) a scrotum and penis, and b) Dr S always said he was 200% sure.
So I'm really thinking boy! But what do you guys think? I can't decide if it drove me more crazy not to know at all, or to kind of know but not be sure, lol!
Re: Ahhhhh it was inconclusive!!
Bigger...
Seeker couldn't tell?! He's so good at it, I'm shocked! From what I remember they always do the gender scan at 16 weeks ...is this not the norm anymore?
Anyway, looks totally boy to me!
What a tease.
I can never read those pictures. I can't even tell if it's a baby. Is it possible that it's half marsupial? I think I see a pouch.
No?
Sorry, should have been more clear - I'm at a different practice now. They don't usually do them this early and I don't think have the same expertise as Seeker at seeing this early. He always knew right away!
LOL
Okay you guys are helping. I really think it's a boy. I like certainty
I thought it was a dolphin. That black shady part? Is that the baby or the placenta?
I am looking at it like this:
because I can't tell what I'm looking at. I have no ultrasound sluthing skills. I wouldn't know a hand from a foot looking at that.
However, everyone else says boy, so I say BOY!
10/24/2011 - Surprise BFP; EDD 6/21/12! BOY!
Sweet baby boy born 6/14 9lb 2oz via csection.
Well, I should have another at 20w, so in about a month.
OR do I just go with my total craziness and schedule an elective u/s somewhere else. Is not going nuts thinking about it for a month worth $65...hmmm...
Well, that's definitely a boy, but yes, totally worth the $$. I paid for one at 15w, 4d because I couldn't stand it a minute longer and my next scan wasn't scheduled for almost 21 weeks.
Forgive me for saying it this way, but it is the "glass table" shot. Imagine the baby is sitting on a sheet of glass and you are underneath looking up.
I also vote for boy. I see a little turtle and no sign of the three lines.
i can't tell either, and i used to stare at my ultrasound pics to try to really figure out what was what. (weird that i was staring at my kid's junk???)
EEEeeeek! That totally looks like boy parts to me!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
I'm going through something similar. I can't decide if I want my OB to try to guess at my appt next week because I've had more than one friend whose early u/s guess was wrong. So, it would drive me nuts to kinda know but not really know.
And yay for seeing baby and for him to be so cooperative.
