Think I "dodged a bullet" w/ this job...long!

So I had talked about whether or not to share pregnancy news with potential employers in previous posts...

I had a "shadow" day at what I *thought* was my dream job last Thursday...went really well, and they called me 3 hours later to say that the director wanted to meet with me the next day. I couldn't go back on Friday, so we rescheduled for Monday instead.

I get there Monday, and the director immediately goes into a huge rant about how I had "lied" to him about my school schedule (I'm in school Mondays and every other Thursday night for Masters degree). I had told him my exact schedule which I had known since November, as well as the other 2 physicians I interviewed with. The main person interviewing me had voiced that it was "Fabulous that I was in school, and how I could work certain hours to accommodate the schedule and get there in time". She later came in on the interview and acted like she had no idea that we had discussed particular hours or a schedule.

Anyway, the director ranted on about how I had said I was only in school 1 day a week, and how I was trying to be sneaky (??) about it...and that I would need to sign  a "contract" so that we could be sure of my schedule for the next two years (as if I have any control over whether the program changes or not haha). I was pretty sure at this point that I wasn't accepting the job anyway, so I went ahead and told them about the pregnancy to get it out there and how it was still early, we were waiting to hear the heartbeat, etc.

His reaction: "Oh. Was it a mistake?"

Ummmmmm. Called the HR director and turned down the job immediately after the "interview", and let them know exactly why. She basically told me that I didn't want to work for this particular doctor (and was appalled), and how she was going to review my resume for another potential job since they were really interested in my resume (she graduated from the same school and program as me).

So I'm a little bummed that I don't have a new job, but so so glad that I saw the true colors of this guy before accepting!
