Teen Mom (not May Mom related)

I'm just watching the new episodes from last night.  Love it!  It just was amazing when Chelsea was saying how hard to be a teen mom to her friend Meaghan.  And the cycle continues...

Anyone else share this guilty pleasure?

    I don't have TV anymore, just netflix. But when I did I LOVED and lived for Hoarders.

    99% of the time...you can watch it online!

    I am going to look for it when I get home on mtv.com ...I never set up the DVR to catch it...I prefer watching stuff online anyways...means I am doing it in bed! haha

    Love it...can we talk about how Chelsea can afford living in a nice townhouse like that? look at the place, say she wants it, signs the lease and gets the keys all in 1 breath?

    Guiltily watching 16 & Pregnant right now.  My husband and I watch Teen Mom when we can.  Not sure why i have such an obsession with this show!

    I did not know it started in like December!!

    I am watching online the catch up special..then the newer episodes...this will make time pass faster in my last hour at work =)

    I am obsessed...and I mean obsessed with Teen Mom. Things that bothered me about last night's episode though....

     1. Chelsea's hair color changed in every scene! Bad editing!

    2. I also noticed how Chelsea just waltzed into that town home and immediately signed the lease. No background check? No deposit?

    3. And how are these girls so broke all the time!?!? They get paid for the show right? I understand that maybe MTV wants to portray them as normal teenagers but come on.

    I think it goes into a trust or something because they are underaged and I hear it is not very much that they get paid....but again..no one knows for sure!

    *sigh*

    I do not know the deal with it all...but yeah.. .

    I've watched a few episodes and while I do find it entertaining, I can't help but wonder if it encourages some girls to become pregnant for possible fame/attention.

    I watch it. I am a cosmetology instructor, and I about died whenI saw Chelsea's blonde hair...it was SO blonde, totally done the wrong way, and FRIED. When she said "it's sooo blonde" I knew she wouldn't keep it. And the next scenes it was obvious she had gotten heavy lowlights done. She looked terrible with the bleach blonde hair job...ugh. And that Jo's mom- she has a hateful look on her face every scene. Hateful. And Jenelle's mom...I love her accent. Cracks me up. I think she needs counseling because she is so irratic. But my fav was her yelling at jenelle and she said " go stay with your booooooyfriend" in her accent. So funny!

    Totally a fair thought.

    There is a fine line between education and encouragement.

    Some girls will take this as a warning sign...others will take it as I CAN DO THIS! .... *sigh* Nothing works for everyone.

    For me...this would have turned me off sex in high school. My mom was SUPER honest with me about sex and all the things that could happen... I did not have sex in high school because of all those talks. So I think watching this WITH your kid would be ok...you would be there to talk about it.

    Having them watch it on their own...could lead down the wrong road... I dunno. MESSY situations!

    100% agree. The first few seasons of Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 are on Netflix. I don't get MTV, so I didn't even know they were still online. Something for me to do during our winter storm for the next few days! Unfortunately my husband HATES the show. 

    My guy can not stand the show either...which is why watching it on MTV.com works well for me...hahaha

    I can hide away and watch my show in shame! glorious shame! haha

    I HEARD that they get paid some but most of it goes into bonds and what not in the kids names. Who knows tho. it's still not realistic. I was 16 and preg. have a ton more money issues then they have but i was not only able to get a high school diploma I am graduating w 2 BA and 2 Minors this may. ugh I don't get it. but I LOVE the show lol.

    Those two have such a toxic relationship.  As do Adam and Chelsea.  I mean, I am getting so annoyed with how Chelsea lets Adam treat her.  I'm amazed how she lets him put her down and says things to her like she is stupid, etc.

    I agree.  I love the show and am totally guilty of watching it when I can but I get so angry/upset at the toxicity of their relationships, its becoming hard to watch.  I was in an abusive relationship when I was 16 and had a few scares that I was pregnant (Thank the good Lord, I never was.) Anyway, the relationship would have destroyed me if I didn't finally find the strength to get out...  The manipulation and control young people can have over eachother is insane.

    I'm addicted to this show! 

    Chelsea's hair color changing was driving me insane!  Also, does anyone else notice how these girls are supposedly broke but ALWAYS have acrylic nails?  Priorities!

    This, exactly. I love the show, but I just want to smack those two girls!! It's painful to watch them settle for much less than they each deserve.
