Colin takes 36 oz of formula a day, six 6 oz bottles and I also do oatmeal and fruit in the morning and bananas at night. I had a friend who's a mom sort of hint around that I'm over feeding him today. Does this sound about right to you or too much?
We just recently increased his formula to 36 oz from 32 oz and we also started him on solids. He started STTN right when we did this...not sure if it's a coincedence or not!
Re: FF babies-how much does your 5 month old eat a day?
It sounds right to me.
DD is 4 1/2 months and she takes 30-36oz (5-6 6oz bottles) of formula a day. We haven't started veggies/fruit yet (but plan to this weekend when i can watch her all day to make sure she doesn't have a reaction) she has rice cereal 2-3 times a day (morning & afternoon). She also STTN for the past month
We saw her Dr on Monday and he said make sure she gets at least 24 oz of formula but that over 40 is too much.
Tallen gets 5-6 six oz bottles a day (he doesn't always eat all of it, but usually does) and in the morning he gets 1 TBS of oatmeal mixed with prune juice and 1 large ice cube portion (we make our own organic baby food) of a fruit (either pear or apple) and at night he gets 1 TBS of oatmeal mixed with prune juice and 1 large ice cube size portion of a vegetable (green bean, sweet potato, butternut squash or acorn squash). After his 6 month appointment, we will be introducing new foods as suggested by wholesome baby.
DS2 drinks 30-34oz/day. We're starting solids on Sunday, but I doubt it'll change that amount.
That is exactly how much formula (6, 6oz) we feed him but less solids. We just started solids so maybe we'll cut back a little on formula when he starts eating more solids? We do eat a little rice cereal right now on top of that amount but more goes on his bib than in his tummy.
Mason typically takes six 6oz bottles. He eats every 3-4 hours around the clock.
For solids, he has oatmeal and fruit in the morning, and he has oatmeal and veggies (or just veggies) in the evening. Each meal is about 3-3.5oz.
He is almost 5 1/2 months, and he is probably 15-16 lbs.
