Crampy after an internal exam?

I had my 36 week appointment this morning and she did the GBS test and an internal exam. I am 2cm dilated, lost mucous plug and the head is right there. That is all she told me about it. But I am really crampy and sore now and my back is really hurting. Did anyone have this feeling after an internal exam. Just wanted to make sure it was normal and not something I should call about.

I was crazy sore and crampy for about 24 hours after my check last week. I told my doctor yesterday and she said it's common, just drink a lot of water. Like I said, it went away after about 24 hours so it was short lived. I haven't felt anything like that after yesterday's check.

Yes, I had cramping and sometimes some spotting after internals when I was pregnant with DD. It's normal. Of course, if you think you're having regular contractions or something, start taking note.

Thank you both! I don't feel like they are coming and going or anything how I assume contractions feel but I will make sure to keep my eye on it.

On Monday I had an internal, and that evening DD had girl scouts and I had errands too. I was standing in a store and seriously felt like the baby was going to come flying out of there the cramps were so intense.

Came home, sat down, drank water, and felt better by yesterday afternoon....so yes, normal, but still not fun! Sit and drink!
