Silly question, I know, but this is the most pregnant I've been. My doctor told me they're prefer not to let me go past 41 weeks, although I know it's ultimately up to me. If I make it to the appointment on my due date Thursday, I'm wondering what they do. Just schedule your next weekly appointment like normal? Schedule an induction for 41 weeks? Any routine testing to see if you're okay to keep going?
What's been your experience?

When I was just 37 weeks my doctor gave me an induction date but it wasn't actually scheduled until my 39th week appointment. She basically just said if he doesn't come on his own by Jan. 12th we'll induce on that day. He never came on his own so at 40 week appt (this past Friday) my cervix was checked and since I wasn't dilated at all (40% effaced and soft, however) Dr. said I will go in the night before (tomorrow!) to get Cervidil started and be induced Thursday morning.
Dr. didn't really make it seem as though there was any reason (mine or baby's health-wise) she didn't want me to wait longer than the 12th, other than the fact that I'd be 41 weeks and may as well let him out of there.

My OB won't let patients go past 41 weeks. After my due date, I can either just schedule an induction or go in for an NST and BPP and then go from there.
I think I'm likely just to schedule an induction for 40w3d.
