Trying to Get Pregnant

Positive OPK with FMU

Hi All-

This is my first time on the board! I am the proud mother of a 2.8 yr old little girl and had a "chemical pregnancy" that I lost back in May.

This is my first month using OPK's and I am a testing freak.  I think I am testing 3 times a day?  My period are irregular last month my cycle was 44 days.  Right now I am on CD24 and the last 2 days my FMU (around 8am) have been super positive and then the rest of the day they are negative- not a faint line, nut defintiely not as dark.  All my negatives have been dark just not super dark. No EWCM either.

I am using First Response which says test at any time of day.  I have read a lot about false negatives with FMU.  Does anyone have false positive stories?

This is consuming my brain!

Re: Positive OPK with FMU

  • i'm curious to hear the responses to this as well.  I recently switched to digital OPKs b/c I could feel my lasik reversing from all of the staring at the Wondfos. Since they're more expensive, I would love to know what time of day works best for all of you ladies.

  • Right? What a pain! My husband told me he feels used for his manjam! HAHA.  I too have read not to use FMU for the reason of a flase negative / not enough time for LH to build if you have a morning surge.  But I seem to be the opposite with immediate positives with FMU. So strange.  I am basically going with the sex every other day from the end of my period until the start of my next!

    manjam? LOL

  • I got positives with FMU and negatives in the afternoon (a few cycles ago.) I was told not to use FMU as it gives false positives b/c of the concentration. My OBGYN suggested twice a day. I now test at 10am and 5pm. GL!!

  • Thanks! That makes sense.  Figures.  Considering today was the 4th morning of positives and then I just tested and it was negative and am on CD25- I think its safe to say my cycle has a mind of its own.  I may reach out to my OB at some point too.  I will continue testing twice day for what feels like will be the rest of my life! LOL.
