Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Anyone still using the jumper?

We haven't in a long time. Maybe since she started crawling. I happened to see it in her closet and was wondering if she'd be too big for it or if she'd even tolerate it now that she crawls all over. She really did love it so it makes me wonder if I should try it again (after checking the weight limit) or put it in the attic. Is anyone still using theirs?

Re: Anyone still using the jumper?

  • We have a rainforest jumperoo where the weight limit is 25 lbs.  I occasionally put him in it so I can shower but he doesn't like it anymore.  He usually just stands there and b!tches.  My mom has a Johnny Jump-up door hanging one and he tolerates that one better.  He's 21.3 lbs.

  • we still do sometimes.  we dont have the right structure in our house for a johnny jumper type thing so it is the only thing he can use to jump.  he still loves it, just for shorter periods of time then before he was mobile.  and i think what he likes is that it is something different to do every other day or so.

  • We still use it but DS isn't crawling yet. I think as soon as he is mobile he won't love the jumper as much.

  • DS has almost outgrown it, but he loves to jump.  If we are holding him, he tries to jump then, too.  We use it sparingly.  We just packed up his swing yesterday (haven't used it in a couple months since he could reach the animals on the mobile), and I got a little misty.  Glad he hasn't outgrown his Jumperoo yet.

  • My little guy still LOVES it. It's part of his morning routine. It's facing the fish tank, so he jumps in it when Daddy feeds the fish, makes coffee, makes baby cereal, and all that stuff. (Basically when Jared's not awake enough at first to keep him from getting into things and I'm getting ready for work.)

I don't think he's 20 lbs yet. His appointment is this week.

  • Nope. I think she got over her jumper at 8 months. She became kinda/sorta mobile at 7 months (booty scooter). At 8 months, I would try to put her in and she would kick her little legs and get mad at me. Now she's crawling and she will sometimes crawl over to it, reach up and play with one of the toys on it. But that's it. I really wanna get rid of it soon. It is kind of sad though :( I remember from 4-8 months she really loved that thing. I would tell her "Go baby! Go crazy!" and she would jump as much as she could lol.

  • We got rid of Sophia's when she was like 6 months. She didn't like it once she started crawling.

  • She still loves her jumperoo. She crawls over to it, stands up, and starts jumping to tell us she wants in. It is so cute.

  • A couple of time a week she still likes it for 20 minutes or so.  I am definitely going to put it away at one year though. I feel like it Is not developmentally appropriate to play with at that point...she should be out crusing and walking instead.

  • My DD isn't too heavy for it but she's a little too tall for it.  She wasn't ever that into being in it (she's a spaz and doesn't like to be tied down!) but we leave it in her play area and she likes to stand up and pull on it until the music plays.
  • We have the rainforest jumperoo and he still loves it.  It's part of his morning routine at daycare, too. He's just under 19.5 lbs and just started really crawling last week.

  • Not too much. Everyone once in awhile he'll look fondly at it so I'll put him in it and he'll maybe check out the toys or do a little bouncing then he'll make it clear he wants to get out, he doesn't go as crazy as he used to in it. It helps make the superyard sturdier so it'll probably stay up for a little while longer.

  • Just put it in the attic this weekend.  He liked it after he could crawl, but was not excited about it once he was cruising around the living room furniture.  I think standing = walking at that point and jumping was no longer in the picture!
  • We have the rainforest jumperoo too. We still have it set up in the living room but we only put him in it a few times a week now. He likes it still, but not nearly as much as he used to before he started crawling/cruising. He'll only stay in it for about 5 minutes now before he starts whining to be taken out. He does like to pull up on it, and then shake it around to make it make noise, though. :)
