Anyone have a VBAC?

I had a c-section with DD but with the new info on the dangers of RCS I'm looking into VBAC when we have #2 but it's not popular in AL. We live in the Tuscaloosa area and I'm looking for a pro-VBAC OB.

    Have you checked in B'ham?  I am in the H'ville area, and a good friend of mine who wanted to do a VBAC with her second had to go all the way to Nashville to find a pro-VBAC doctor three years ago.  I'm not sure how much has changed since then.

    If you don't mind me asking, what new info on dangers of repeat c/s's?  I had a c/s with my daughter 2 years ago, and although I am not pregnant again or plan to be any time soon, if we have a 2nd one I was planning on doing a repeat c/s.  So just curious what the new dangers are?

    Northport DCH has one of the best VBAC rates in the state so I'm looking there to start. Basically the article in the American College of OB/Gyn journal found that RCS had higher risks of hemorrhage and death than VBACs if it was a low transverse incision. Basically the less the 1% chance of rupture is safer than the risks of repeat surgery. The article is linked on the VBAC board above if you want to read it for yourself.
