I've included the link at the bottom to the blog where they have the example, it was displayed on pinterest and I thought it was the sweetest thing. It's a gift basket with all dad's stuff so they know they're loved and thought about too!
My DH has been pretty awesome through this whole pregnancy and I was looking for a way to show my appreciation and followed this example. I didn't have a way to transport or hide a basket as they show (and I'd then have to lug it home) so I packed it in an overnight bag in my hospital suitcase. I snagged all his favorite snacks, drinks, candy, chewing gum, a men's magazine he loves, travel sized body and face wipes, a greeting card with a personal note, and I'm making the "52 things I love about you" on an old deck of cards. They say to pack snacks anyway, which I will separate of this, these items are "just for him" stuff...
Anywho, thought it was a sweet idea and wanted to share.

Re: A hospital gift for DH: Thought I'd share!
lol I totally understand, but I also don't expect to be the nicest person in labor. Hopefully this will make up for some of the sailor talk that will come from my mouth. If he goes in thinking I'm a sweet wife I can get away with that much more....
This is me too! I love DH, he's great 99% of the time, and part of me is like, ah nice idea. Another part is like...uh hello I carried this thing around 9 months and I'll be popping it out where's my special basket?!!
I have to find those!! I forgot all about them! Ha!
That's what I thought too... the poor man wakes up with me most of the times I have to get up to pee every night, has dealt with mood swings and tears, has read every baby book I've handed him (I think he knows more than I do!), tagged along to all the classes, and he's a FTD so he's nervous too! I know I'll be getting all the love and attention at the hospital (until baby arrives, then HE gets all the love and attention) so I wanted DH to feel special. *insert hokey Brady Bunch music here*
Okay, I can stop the cheesiness now....
I think our special hospital basket would include things like pads, mesh undies, adult diapers, hemmie cream, a stiz bath, etc. Not as cute lol.
Awww.... I think this is really sweet. Thanks for sharing!
Lurking from 2nd trimester. When my son was born, I bought him an awesome t-shirt that said Grateful Dad, (we are Dead fans), slippers for the hopsital as well (had a c-section) and he was sleeping on a pull out chair for 4 nights, a new coffee cup, and a few odd things. He was over the moon with it.
I love the idea of the basket. He was great to me and bought me my boppy, slippers, and new nursing pj's. Not for anything but I must have sent him to babies 'r' us everyday for the first two weeks. He was my errand boy for awhile especailly after a c-section, it was the least I can do.
I know I was not always the most agreeable and happy pregnant women I will do something small again this time.

Exactly this! My DH is pretty great but he's been simply AMAZING during my pregnancy. While we're both getting the awesome gift if having a baby, I think it'd be nice to go the extra mile like he's done for me. Thanks for sharing!!

In theory it's a great idea.
Just make sure there's room in your vehicle along with the kitchen sink.
IMO, it's just an extra thing to do on a To-Do list that won't get completely done anyway...
lol no worries; to each their own! I was just sharing an idea. Everyone's relationship with their SO is different, I for one know my husband would LOVE this. If you feel differently, no problem! That's what makes the world go round.
Just a quick note though.... it took me maybe 5 minutes to pick out snacks, a magazine, and a card (I did this instead of putting notes on everything) at the grocery store, where I already was buying groceries. I haven't finished the 52 things yet, and if I don't, it's extra (like the cute t shirt idea). I literally stuck it in a bag in the top of my suitcase, for a total of about $10 and almost no effort.
I love this!
THANK U for sharing! This is such a cute idea...! I'm gonna get started on mine!
