cold remedies

I have a cold :( complete with head congestion, headache, stuffy nose, sore throat, body aches and horriable cough which often leads to throwing up or peeing my pants (sometimes both)

My shower is tomorrow and I have tried every remedy I can think of, hot tea with honey and lemon, steamy shower, vapor rub, soup, rest, vitamins, ect.

I really dont want to be sick for my shower (not to mention alot of my friends with very young children will be there, I dont want to get any of them sick!)

HELP!

Re: cold remedies

  • ugh!  I am just getting over a cold (turned-sinus infection).  While I was still in the cold stage I was using my son's humidifier at night and also was using my neti-pot twice a day.  There aren't any cold medications (that I know of) that are safe to take so I was just trying to tough through it.

It ended up turning into a sinus infection so now I have some antibiotics that are finally helping.  I hope you can find some relief soon!!

  • I think the best you can do is push fluids and rest. I was going to recommend peppermint tea, but if you've already done hot tea w/lemon and vapor rub, peppermint tea probably won't help you that much more.

    Hope you're feeling better tomorrow.

    Pass the sheet cake.

Same exact thing happened to me!! :( Until it turned to a sinus infection and I started antibiotics, I found relief with NeilMed sinus rinse and super steamy bathrooms. Dr also okayed Benadryl and sudafed. Benadryl might make you sleepy for your shower though:(

I hope you feel better...in case being thissss pregnant isn't uncomfortable enough, these head colds just add insult to injury!
