My OB docs deliver at 2 local hospitals and I live in between them, though slightly closer to one than the other. The further one is the better one, in my opinion (when I worked in hospital marketing, we modeled our L&D process after this hospital). A few weeks ago, one of the docs in my practice said that I should consider the other hospital because it might be easier to get to in case of a blizzard. I was actually beginning to worry about that and thought about pre-registering at both, though I really don't want to go to the other one.
Well, I am due in less than a week. I just saw the 7-day forecast and it's supposed to be in the 40s/50s now through my due date (ridiculous weather for the area in which I live). So, if LO wants to come on time or sooner, I get my way! (Because weather forecasters are always correct )
Sorry for the random ramblings, just got a little excited.
Re: What if there's a blizzard? Ha!
I live in MN where we are known for the coldest winters in the US and I actually opened the windows in our house yesterday for 2 hours. Normally the windows get locked in November and unlocked in late April..... I felt like I was crazy opening the windows but it was so nice!
The next 7 days are supposed to be nice, too, which is great news! Like you said, won't have to worry about any record snowfalls stopping us from getting to the hospital. But just my luck it will be unseasonably beautiful while we're in the hospital and then the day we're supposed to go home it will drop to -30 degrees and be crazy windy....or blizzard then!
