What to pack in hospital bag posts drive me CRAZY!

Is there one particular post that drives you crazy to see people asking???  Since I was hospitalized twice and neither time I had a bag packed (hospitalized at 24 weeks when went into PTL for 26 days - then went home for 10 days and went back into labor and had son) and I somehow survived between what the hospital supplied, what my husband and family brought to me, etc... I get annoyed seeing mamas to be psoting their hospital bag list and asking people to let them know what else they need.  The sad things is I was also this annoying girls before going into PTL.  At around 20 weeks I was already searching the internet making my hospital bag list, which I obviously never used.  Just had to vent!

  • I delivered within hours of going to the hospital with ruptured membranes - I wasnt even wearing a bra - lol I did ok. But the posts dont really bother me - I wanted to be prepared also - so I'm sure I would have pre-packed a ridiculous bag of stuff I didnt need! the only posts that bother me use to be the third try "just get this baby out" posts that made me want to reach in the computer and smack someone - NO you do not want your baby born at 28 weeks!!!!

  • A lot of things bother me now that I am a preemie mom, but I definitely made a hospital bag list at one point.

  • I hear you! I never packed my bags. We just had family run by the house and pick up a few essential items. I tell people that you don't need much when going to the hospital. I never showered, nor did I care what I looked like. I also just wore the same clothes I came to the hospital in home.

Ditto although I did shower, I was in the hospital for a week.

  • yeah those posts ussually make me roll my eyes.  the only thing I brought with me to the hospital at 26 weeks was the bag of groceries I had just bought.  I couldn't even leave the bag in the car because I had to take a cab to the hospital.

When I left the hospital 10 days later after delivering my twins I wore the same thing home as I wore in (a tube top and jeans).  Well with the addition of a bath robe since my husband forgot to bring my jacket.

  • I usually just don't open those posts.  I mean it's common sense people.  I did pack a bag when I went to my Dr.'s appointment because I pretty much knew I was getting admitted.  Of course when it turned out I would be there for the long term, MH and mom brought me everything I needed and the hospital gave me stuff too.
  • Yes, those annoy me too! I went to my doctor's appointment on a Friday, was admitted straight from there and delievered early Sunday morning.  I had the clothes I walked in with.  My husband brought everything to me.  But I was one of those women when I was pregnant.  I was even going to take a class on what to pack in your hospital bag offered at a local maternity store.

  • The posts that bother me are ones like "eviction date" or "I'm FT today!"

Yep these are my pet peeve posts too. But I basically stay away from 3rd Tri so I don't see them.

I was totally one of those people over planning things. I was halfway done with childbirth classes (hahaha), had a packing list, had set up a hospital tour all before DD was born at 27 weeks. Yep....I'm that anal.

  • Posts like "I hope this baby is born early" (at 37 weeks) and "I'm so over being prego" Yeah I can't stand those.

  • all the ones u ladies listed annoyed me. i saw someone recently post on fb about how the 3rd is just going to miserable for her because of how she feels. she wants to breeze right thru like she did for the first. yeah i would have done just about anything to experience a 3rd tri.

i realize that anyone who has a baby in the NICU(preemie or full term with an issue) is under stress and it totally stinks regardless of if its for months or only a couple of days. however when DS was in the NICU u could tell who was who when they were in the hall without even talking to them. the preemie moms loved like death run over, in a hospital gown etc. the full term moms all had these nicely matching "hospital" outfits. cute rob, top and slippers. and looked somewhat put together.

i wore a damm sleep bra for a week. the only thing i wished i had purchased and brought with me was a nursing sports bra type one. none of my bras fit except the sleep bra. it took 5 days for DH to bring the right slippers(the ones i bought to wear at the hospital). and what do i with them....wore them in the shower on accident. they took another day or so to dry.

  • hah yeah this definitely annoys me too. I was in the hospital for 32 days on bedrest. I never had a hospital bag packed and I survived!

  • LOL

I always think "well, you really don't need anything" :):)

(but a camera, of course!) :)

  • Those posts bother me, but what bothers me more is hearing about other people's aches and pains they had later in the 3rd tri.  My sister was also pregnant when I was and our due dates were 2.5 weeks apart and after I had DS I kept hearing from my other sisters (I have 4 sisters) of how tough it was for my sister with her 3rd trimester aches and pains and I should be happy I don't have to deal with those feelings - trust me, I would have much rather kept feeling like crap and being pregnant than having to go to the hospital to visit my daughter every day!
