Hi ladies,
I hope I can post here as my son is 1 weekshy of being 3 months ![]()
My LO is still getting up for a 3am feeding. I put him down at 830/9pm, he wakes up at 3am, down again at 4am, then up at 530/6am.
Some people I talk to tell me their 12 week old sleeps 8pm-8am but doesnt nap during the day.
My question is, am I letting him nap too much during the day? He sleeps 9am-11am, then 1pm-3pm and then 5pm-7pm.
TIA
Re: How much does your 12 week old nap during the day
DD will be 3 months in 2 days. She has almost the same sleeping habits as your LO during the night. ( down at 9, up to eat at 3:30 then again about 6 or 7) except she goes back down after about 10-15 min at 3 am instead of an hour. anyways, she naps from about 11:30 to 2 and has about 3 half hour power naps through out the day. if she misses naps, or ends up sleeping all day, it hasn't seemed to affect her nighttime schedule. hope that helps.
b.t.w. DD has a cold and must be sleeping it off because it's 4pm and she has been awake for MAYBE 3 hours tops today. but i let her wake on her own cuz i think her little body needs it.
I've got a napper on my hand. He just can't handle being awake for longer than 1 hour 10 minutes without getting cranky/fussy. He sleeps from 8pm to 4am, eats and goes back to sleep until 6:30/7am. Then he eats and goes back to sleep till 8:30.
Naps from 9:30-11:30, 12:30-2:30, 3:30-5:30.
Let him sleep as much as he wants - sleep begets more sleep!
My LO can only stay awake about 90 minutes to 2 hours. So he usually takes 4 naps a day.
Wake up at 6:30am, first nap 8-9am, and so on. Your schedule sounds right. HSHHC says to use that 2 hours of awake time as the max through 4 months.
