clomid users, come in ....

so I have an appt with my OB today - she suggested going on Clomid -?

have you found it successful ? side effects ?

I've been so cranky today since AF came this am ...

TTC #2 after m/c?

    I just took my first one last night so I don't have any real "knowledge" for you just yet but I will soon! GL!

    I am awaiting AF so I can start my first round of Clomid.  I know that Clomid has been around for a long time-my mom had taken it to get pregnant with both my self and my brother. 

    From what I was told that there are no "dramatic" side effects.

    I did not ovulate on either 50 or 100 mg.  And the cycle that I took the 100 mg was 60 days long.  I also had hot flashes on the 100 mg.

    sadly, I'm an old pro with clomid. I took it for 6 months from October 2007 until this past spring. I did get my BFP on my 3rd round of it, but obvioulsy that didn't work out for me. I took a month off from it after the m/c and then did 3 more months with no luck. I then went to an RE, had my HSG and lap surgery where they found endo, then he put me back on the lower dose of it for 3 more months. Last month was the first month, nothing - this month I'm not sure I'm feeling it, so it hasn't gotten me a baby yet but it definitely got my body to O, which it wasn't doing before I started it. So I am a believer in it, and I know several ladies who've gotten BFPs and sticky babies while on it.

    as for s/e, I don't have that many. I take mine at night and that probably helps. my first 6 rounds I found it totally interfered with my sleep and I had insomnia bad for the 5 days I was taking it, also had some hotflashes. I have not had the insomnia this time around, thank God, but I have had a few headaches. none of the s/e have been terrible or made me not want to take it.

    First, why is your Dr sugesting clomid? Will she monitor you? Have you done an HSG? Have your DH done a SA?

    Do you O on your own?

    Clomid can be great, and helped many women get pg, but it can also cause a lot of problems if not monitored correctly.

    I'm on my first cycle of clomid (50 mg), so I don't know if it's worked yet.  I didn't have any side effects.  It's been a year since my last bfp, so clomid is giving me some hope.
