Ever since a few days after my BFP, I've been having these waves of really severe cramping. It feels just like before AF but WAY stronger and almost makes me feel like puking. I can hardly walk when it's happening. It lasts about 10 minutes and then I feel better. It's happened the most in the late evening but it's woken me from a dead sleep a few times as well. It's been going on about a week now. I called the OB and they advised me to drink more water. That definitely improved it, but I'm still cramping! I haven't had spotting of any kind. Anyone else experience this?? I'm 4w5d today. TIA!
Re: Severe cramping?
I had severe cramping early on in my pregnancy, it was so bad I was in tears. I would go home at lunch and cry.
I asked my doctor but she said I was fine unless I started bleeding but 3 days later I couldn't handle it and went to my after hours clinic. The doctor there examined me and sent me for an emergency u/s to rule out ectopic. Everything was great and it turned out that I was having severe IBS.
I have always had IBS but usually it was diarhea (TMI sorry) but all of a sudden I couldn't poop. I had asked the doctor about it at my first appointment but she said she didn't think it was that (well it was). I had to drink two big glasses of prune juice and it still bothered me for a few weeks but I feel back to normal now.
I read that symptoms can change week to week so I'm hoping it doesn't come back.
I'm hoping it's nothing serious!
With my second pregnancy I had similar pains and went into the ER--turned out I was fine and so was baby-
-BUT I would still go in if that type of pain (the type you are describing) happend this time areound because it could possibly be ectpic.--GL!
