0.2 seconds, that's all it takes

I clean the house and exactly 0.2 seconds later it looks like I haven't touched it since 2009...

Why am I still surprised everytime it happens? I clean and I tell myself "this time it'll stay clean!" and then 0.2 seconds later it's messy again. It's like I forgot I live with two kids, a man, a dog and a cat who all work together to see who can make a mess the quickest :0)  

I think I'll call my condition "cleaning amnesia".

    I'm pretty sure my family has secret meetings to discuss the best ways to make me go crazy.  Leaving crumbs or a dallop of something on a freshly washed countertop rank pretty damn high.

    That's funny. I know...sometimes when I clean or do some task like clipping finger/toenails I think, "Wow! That's done! Never have to do that again!" Like somehow I get this feeling EVERY TIME that's the last time I have to do it. It's just a feeling, not a fact of course. :)

    The best is when my husband comes home and says, "Ooooh you cleaned everything today! Thank you." and LEAVES HIS FRIGGING SHOES IN THE ENTRYWAY AND DISH ON THE COUNTER.  Seriously?!  Ugh!!

    I don't even bother cleaning till the end of the night.  It's not worth it!

    This. It saves my sanity. My husband wants to come home to a clean house but I tell him he will wake up to one :)

    I feel your pain.  Therefore, I do the big cleaning days when we are going to be out of the house for long periods of time, then it tends to stay cleaner longer.  I also just to the pick up as you go method, and that way I dont feel so overwhelemd and bummed once the kids make it a mess again.
