DH and I live in the middle floor of a 3 story apartment building. Back this summer, we got new upstairs neighbors. For the most part, they're pretty quiet, but every once in a while, it sounds like they pick up and throw their furniture. Huge bangs, heavy footfalls, more big crashes. Usually it only lasts a couple minutes, so we don't think much of it, other than they're being obnoxious.

Tonight, however, it was going on 15 minutes or so, and I could have sworn I heard the woman scream/cry out in pain. I was freaking out, so I went and talked to DH. He had his headphones on, so he hadn't heard it. I went back to my movie, and DH came in the living room with me. When the crashing started again, I paused the movie. Then another scream. DH booked it to the bedroom to put on some presentable type clothes, and rushed upstairs to investigate.

The couple upstairs was having an epic Nerf battle. LOL They had gotten new Nerf guns for Christmas and were trying them out. Apparently Mrs. Upstairs Neighbor has a very high pitched squealy voice that when she giggles, sounds like she's crying. (She giggled when she realized why DH was at her door, and he agreed it really did sound like she was crying.)

Ugh, when we lived in apartments we had neighbors who would...well...we would think he was slapping her and punching her and throwing her against the wall until we realized what was REALLY going on. (bow chicka wow wow...) Very disturbing. Indifferent And they would usually have a borderline abusive fight really loudly before the make up session.

I love your DH for actually going up to check on her well being! LOL!

I had a dreadful downstairs neighbor who would pound on her ceiling with something, maybe a broomstick, every time we accidentally made too much noise. One time, she actually did it when I had family over for Mother's Day. My mom went downstairs and reamed her out. It prompted us to get a house really fast.
