TTC after 35

New Year, new member

Good morning Ladies!

I've been lurking for weeks now and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 39 and DH is 40. I am very blessed to have a DS who is 9 months but due to my age and prior conceiving issues, time is not on our side to have that second baby that would help complete our family. We've been TTC for 3 months, since the return of AF although I still am BFing.

Besides my age, there were other issues interfering with conception originally: namely fibroids and scar tissue due to an IUD adherence to the uterine wall.We are one of those conception stories with DS that the doctor just shakes his head at. We were told finally in April 2010, IVF was our only hope. 4 months later we got our BFP without any medical intervention - so it CAN happen

I'm not sure if we will pursue any fertility treatments with the exception of Clomid. Am I still in the right place here even though I have a LO and probably won't pursue most medical interventions? I hope my stay here is short, as is yours.

  • Welcome to the group.  There are many people on this board who are not pursuing medical intervention-and many people (myself included) start out without medical help, but decide to pursue medical help along the way.  (as is frequently what is recommended for us ladies over 35)  You are in the right place.  Good luck on your TTC journey.  We all know that it CAN happen, we have seen ladies from our own group who have been told that IVF is only option, or DE, who have gone on to have successful pregancies.  If we didn't think it could happen for us, then we wouldn't be trying so hard to try to make it happen for us.  Everyone's on a different path, but sometimes the different paths of other help you to find your own.  Good luck.
