3 people have told me that raising a puppy is *harder* than raising a baby

  • That is really stupid. You can leave the dog at home by itself at least!

    Why are people so dumb?

  • Those people should be slapped.

  • They have never had kids or smoke crack...

My dog never threw a fit in the middle of Target, my dog never refuses food, my dog never says NO MAH-MEE while swatting at my head.

  • you can't leave a baby at home all day with a full dish of food & water while you go to work.

    people are idiots.

  • Ha I've got two dogs and one baby. I'd take another 10 dogs in any day. You can teach them everything they need to know in a matter of weeks!

  • I have two dogs and they were MUCH easier as puppies and even now than a baby!! They slept through the night and I can put them in a crate when they cry and misbehave!! Babies are much harder to care for and require a lot more attention.
  • the eliminating in the diaper is the only upper hand kids have on puppies.  and sometimes they don't even do that much for us. :)
  • I have to admit that I have compared having a puppy to raising a child in the past before having a baby.  I never said it was more difficult, but that I felt like it gave me a taste of what it would be like and helped prepare me for a baby.

    LOL....

  • What is sad is that all 3 people are parents...of teens. Like they remember.
  • Yeah, I don't think so.  I have 3 dogs and DD is much harder to care for.  The dogs can fend for themselves, DD not so much.  Have these people ever cared for a baby?

  • Tell them "I totally agree!  Life has been so much easier since we started leaving DC in the kennel while we're at work."

That's the problem, people forget what having a baby is like.

    Oh great...NOW you tell me...

*scampers off to get kids out of their crates*

  • I'm pretty sure you don't have to BF a puppy who wants to rip your nipple off....
  • I don't remember being so TIRED when my dog was a puppy!
  • Puppies can be difficult, but not as difficult as babies.  I've had people (who do not have kids, mind you) tell me that, too.  It's annoying. I've had both puppies and now a baby and I can tell you the puppy was good prep for a baby, but nowhere near as hard as a baby!

  • I've done both - there's no doubt that a baby is more difficult!
  • Umm - I remember when my dog was a puppy, it was hard in a sense that we lived on the 3rd floor of an apratment building, so letting him out was a pain.  At that time I thought that if a puppy is this much work there's no way I'm having a baby.  lol.  Glad I waited,

  • my puppy was really hard- he bit me constantly! I say all the time that at least DS doesnt bite. But still, between the two baby is definitely harder.

  • Oh, really? So there's a place you can take a baby to have it trained when it's not acting as you wish it would? You have to carry it around the house all day while you eat and clean, and take it in the bathroom while you shower? Teach it to read and write? Damn, I didn't know there was so much to raising a puppy!
