Am I the only crazy one already collecting ideas for his LO's 1st bday party? I like to hand make most of my party stuff so I need to get started!
Do you know what you are doing already? Care to share any Etsy shops? Or Post any pix you have for ideas!

I agree, especially since LO won't even remember it. We are doing a cook-out at my parents since they have a decent sized yard.
And speaking of sailboats, that's one of my top choices right now! Check this out I found it on Etsy, you might like it!

We are thinking about renting a pavillion at the park. I couldn't see myself renting out an expensive space for DD's first party, but I like the idea of the park (and it's very affordable.) There's a playground for the kids, and lots of space. We are going to do a red riding hood theme and the park that we are looking into is very wooded, so I feel like it all goes together.

You sound a lot like me. It's just so much fun.
I started an idea board on Pinterest too! I want to do the decorations myself so the more ideas early the better!
We also have a small house & may rent a small space since we both have such large families. We want to start house hunting in the spring but I doubt we'd find a house & sell ours in time to do it ourselves but I would love to do that!
I have started planning and finding things here and there to decorate with. WE are doing a nautical/whale theme. WE will have lots of people. We have so many friends who just had babies and we have been invited to all their first birthdays, plus I want our friends there. Then when you add in all the family, its going to be a lot. I figure I'll do it big this year, then keep it small until he is older. It will be memorial day weekend, so I plan on doingt it all red, white & blue, and putting some baby pools out in the yard for the older kids, and my neighbors have a bouncy I will borrow as well to try and keep the older ones occupied and out of the house.
I have a pinterest board started so I don't forget all the cute ideas I've seen. I love party planning so this is fun for me!

Lol! I guess I'm pretentious! LO's 1st bday falls on my first mothers day so I am renting a room at Frederick Meijer Garden's and Sculpture Park https://www.meijergardens.org/ for our friends and family to spend the afternoon. We're having a sit down lunch, photographer, and my friends family will have access to the art, the park, and the children's garden. I figured if I am asking people to spend mother's day with us we should do something the whole family will enjoy! my pinterest board: https://pinterest.com/salliemarshall/g-s-1st-birthday/ my theme is simply balloons.
I don't think it's pretentious at all. If your house can't accommodate everyone, what else are you supposed to do? And who really cares, if it's what you want, do it! I keep saying that I have to do these things before he has an opinion and wants a lame party.
I say go for it!
His birthday falls on Labor day weekend and we are going to be camping with about 20 family members so I am doing a camping theme birthday party and inviting all the family down for the day. Pintrest has come in pretty handy for me as well!
We're doing Mickey Mouse Clubhouse too! I also have a board on pinterest with lots of ideas!
We haven't even started thinking about it. Our house can easily fit people, but we have cats (and SO many people have cat allergies--and that is hard to get away from.) Maybe we can have it at my parents house
Reese loves ANYTHING with Winnie the Pooh and Barney. (I don't think I'll be able to find anything with Barney for a theme though)

E was born on memorial day, May 30, (I think the holiday is the 28th this year) so we will probably celebrate her birthday over the holiday weekend. Most of our friends should be available. Haven't decided what we're doing yet though, but now I feel like I should get crackin!
