Charlie Horse...

My calves are so sore due to frequent muscle cramps. I drink 50oz of water at work everyday, not to mention the couple glasses I have at home. I am scheduled for a massage in 2 weeks but I could really use some relief.  Anyone else having these issues? Any suggestions?

Re: Charlie Horse...

  • My doctor said it was from the baby stealing all of your Calcium. She told me to take some Rolaids or Tums to relieve the cramping. I loathe both of those, so I've been bulking up on Calcium enriched OJ, and they're going away. Hope yours go away soon!

  • Sounds like it is similar to the tums advice, but during my first pregnancy once I started drinking a glass of milk every night before bed, my cramps stopped coming. Also, as soon as I feel a cramp coming on (when I forgot the milk), I quickly stand up, and they go away before the pain gets bad.

  • I will get them at night too.  My doctor told me to take magnesium suppliment...to be honest I havent, just because i keep forgetting during the day.  But I read somewhere to stretch out your calves real good before going to sleep, I just do it while laying in bed, and it seems to help a lot.
