Birth Mom has had bronchitis for weeks so she took herself to the hospital today to try and get medicine that will help.
Her sister (my good friend who set up the adoption) just called me. Apparently they can't find baby's heart beat so they are taking her up for an U/S. Sister is on her way up to the hospital now and will call me as soon as they know something. She's sobbing on the phone "Don't worry Amanda... i'm sure it's just one of those hand held ones... it's ok..."
So if you can send a few extra T's & P's our way, It'd be appreciated.

STRONG HEARTBEAT! They took her in for an ultra sound and said the baby is sitting low and hiding... and it must have just been the machine in the ER. Heartbeat looks good. She asked if they would tell her the gender and they said no, they don't tell her that there and wouldn't look. Either way, thank god. I don't think I've taken a breath in 30 minutes. Thank you for your prayers everyone. ?

ETA: Yayyy! Great news!
WONDERFUL news!!
On a lighter note: Our apartment complex has a "valet trash" company. You leave your bag of trash in the can outside your door and they collect it every night. well I have 2 bags, and need to go to the store. I was in the process of taking stuff to the car to drive to the dumpster when I got the phone call.
I left the 2 bags of trash at the front door for... what... 15 minutes?
They just left a notice on my door that I broke the rules and need to come to the office tomorrow to pay a $75 fine for leaving trash outside the door NOT in the can.
smh. Sorry! i was a little more concerned about other things, apartment manager!

I'm responding way late, but so happy to hear all is well. I hope birth mom feels better soon! I'm sure you were a wreck until you got an update!
thank you everyone!
As soon as I got off the phone I was sobbing. But I'm home alone so I was thinking, I just can't sit here alone and cry. So I posted here. You all have been so wonderful to me since the beginning. Thank you again for everything.

My blog - thoughts, frustrations, and happy moments from an adoptive mommy
It's crazy because BM's sister and I were talking today about how BM has been a hypercondriac her whole life (I've known them for 8 years). So she called early today and was crying because her ears hurt, her throat hurt, she was coughing so hard she was throwing up and wouldn't eat. So I kept telling her how dry heaving is WAY worse and if it means nibbling on crackers and sipping powerade do it because she has to put SOMETHING in there. It's just hard to judge how sick she really is so I told her to go to the hospital if she felt that bad.
And she did. So then I'm flipping out like "what?! I just talked to her and she said baby was kicking her back!" but being so far away... it's just so hard. I have nothing but phone calls and texts to go on. I didn't even know/realize lo could "hide" like that. It's good to know so next time I don't sob like the entire world exploded.
