Totally freaking and heading to TX

We got a call this morning that DH's stepdad passed this morning. 

I've got a few hours to get the house in order, pack and prepare for 4 of us to drive out to TX today and make arrangements for the animals...man, I'm exhausted.

I'm just so worried that my pregnancy brain is going to make me forget something.  My brother is going to come stay here so we're all set with the pets.  DH is out getting the oil changed on the car and he took SD and SS to see their mom before we leave since we'll probably be gone for over a week.  I'm home packing and getting the house in order.

We should be on the road tonight, we have a 16 hour drive ahead of us...fingers crossed we don't forget anything...

    I'm so sorry. How far of a drive is it and where in Texas are you heading. 
    i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.

    Sorry to hear that. Good luck with the preparations and try to make some stops so you can get out and stretch for a few minutes. Bring water and protein snacks if you have time. It's hard to remember what to do for yourself in such circumstances.

    I'm so sorry for your loss - but please remember to take care of yourself.  Make sure to stop often and move around while you are on the drive, and remember to take your time where you can.

    I'm not sure how far it is exactly but we're headed from Orlando, FL to Galveston, TX.  The funeral is in Palestine, close to Tyler.  I'm not sure where that is.

    Thanks for the advice ladies, I totally didn't even think about packing snacks.  I was able to pack a bag of some good snacks we had around the house, that will last us for a while.

    Just waiting on DH to get back so we can load up the car and head out.
