As my due date approaches I am feeling more and more unprepared! (just over 4 weeks) I haven't done anything to get ready except set up his crib. I know I should be washing clothes, packing our bags for the hospital, etc. I just don't have the energy for it anymore. I was induced with my first and this time I have no idea when it's going to happen! I was very prepared for my first son and had everything ready for when he finally arrived! But this time I feel like my water could break any time and I won't have anything done! Anyone else feel like this?!
Re: I feel so unprepared!
I'm kind of there with ya. This is my first baby and I did wash some of the clothes (NB and up to 3M) but I haven't put everything away. The room is still a mess and has lots of $hit in it that I need to clean out. The hospital bag isn't packed nor do I even have everything I need for the hospital. I still need to buy slippers, nursing tops etc.... the car seat isn't in either. The nesting has definitely NOT hit me LOL
But don't worry, things will work out just fine
At least you are a mommy already, I have no clue what to expect :P
I get a couple days where I feel like doing stuff but it's not for the baby! ugh. MY husband tells me to relax since I've done it before but last time it was just easy going in and being admitted right then, I wasn't even in real labor so I feel like I don't know what to expect! I'm over reacting I'm sure but still!
Same here sweetheart... We have most everything we need for her arrival, all the essentials anyway, but we are in no way prepared. The crib was just picked up the other day and we need to do some MAJOR reorganizing of our bedroom before we can even set her up in there... Her clothes have not been washed and all her things are still in the gift bags from our baby shower.
And like you, we are just SO STINKIN TIRED after work every day to do anything productive! Not to mention the fact that my ankles and calves are rediculously swollen everyday now.
I am just going with the delusion that everything is going to set it self up just in time for her arrival lol.
Deep Breath Momma!
I feel the same way, although my reasons are a bit different - I am terrified that something bad will happen.
The only thing I have done is my hospital bag, since that is all MY stuff, no baby stuff. I have good intentions to wash clothes, blankets, etc. but in the back of my mind I feel like I am sealing my fate and something terrible is going to happen to baby. Given my long history of IF and losses my head is all screwed up.
Since my family is super supportive, while I am in the hospital they are going to take care of all the little stuff for me, like washing some clothes and stuff for the first few days at home.
Since posting I have washed and dried two loads of laundry! So now I can start thinking about packing for the hospital finally! I washed all the bedding for both of the cribs (I have an almost two year old too!) So much to do! I know later I'm not going to be feeling good because every time I get these bursts of energy I have horrible braxton hicks later, but for now I feel pretty accomplished!
I swear with my first I was completely ready to leave, house constantly spotless at 32 weeks. I started having moments yesterday where I really feel like he's going to come early, so my butt is going nesting crazy today.
I am so tired, but once I started really trying to get ready, I feel like I can't stop now. lol I think by Saturday, we'll be ready to go! :-)

Everything is finished for our LO's arrival, I just have to pick up some batteries for the swing and bouncer.
Plus, there is a glider in the nursery that my grandma started to reupholster for me so it will match the bedding... And she never finished it. She took it apart and now it's just sitting in the corner of the put-together nursery, looking extra crappy. Haha! I don't know if she realizes this but my due date is 15 days away and it REALLY needs to be done... It frustrates me every time I see it! But my grandmother is extra scatter-brained and all over the place so I gotta say I expected it to turn out this way. LOL.
Oh sweetie, this made me cry. You and baby will be totally healthy and everything will be great. ((hugs))
