When/How Often to BD after Positive OPK?

Hi ladies! This is my first post (though I have lurked for a while, haha)...so this is our first month TTC in earnest - been TTA actually through the late summer/fall due to vacations/travels.

So I got my first +OPK on day 16 (yay!) around 11:00 AM - so I'm deciding if we should BD tonight or not. We did it last night - which I hear is good timing, and the instructions in the OPK say that the best time to do it is "after 24 but before 48 hours" after the positive results...so tomorrow night sometime.

My instict upon seeing the + is to do it tonight, but should I wait until tomorrow? Or do both?

My only concern about doing it tonight AND tomorrow night is diluting his boys, haha. I have read that every day is too much, even for healthy dudes. I wonder if doing it 3 days in a row, with the 3rd day being on O day, will render that third time "watered down" or something.

I am fully aware I am over thinking this, BTW! Type A personality here. But I'm not stressing about it as much as it sounds...just wondering (and getting excited). Apologies if the answer is somewhere obvious on the board....I see different things everywhere I read.

    As long as your husband doesn't have sperm count issues, then you are fine doing it daily, even a couple days of twice a day BD. The more the better!

    Welcome to the board & congrats on your +OPK  :)   Check out the newbie link at the top of the page if you haven't already - it's filled with answers to FAQ's.

    As for your question, sex ED isn't a problem unless your hubby has issues with sperm count.  If there are no known issues, then the more sex = better chances.  I would try to have sex every day until you see a sustained temp spike. If you aren't temping then try and have sex every day for the next 4 days or so.

    I try to do it once a day when I see positive OPKs/have EWCM.

    I second all of this.  My OB/GYN says more sex is always better, so to be on the safe side I'd keep BDing until you get a sustained temp shift.

    Thanks for all the fabulous advice ladies! Everyone is so sweet and helpful. Okay so it's on for tonight - sweet! Poor hubby is a little sick...so he'll have to rise to the occasion (heh). Thank you thank you!

    My OB said to have sex when we see the positive OPK, and then every other day until O. I say do it as much as possible! And definitely do it tonight. I got my +OPK on the SAME Day that I ovulated this mOnth. Happy BDing!
