NYE plans?

So what is everyone doing for New Year's Eve?

We are planning to go hang out with friends at their place. They have a bunch of friends with kids over, order takeout, the kids run amok, and the parents hang out. It should be a laid back evening, though I doubt I'll make it to the ball drop. I haven't been awake past 9:30 in weeks.

Gosh, I hadn't even thought about making plans. My guess is stay in, order Chinese, and try to stay up until the ball drops. Ha... That last part made me giggle.

That sounds perfect! I wish we lived near more friends with kids.

We will see. If someone has people over to their house, then I'll probably go for a bit. But if everyone hits the bars then I am staying home.

I feel kinda bad for Jim, but he doesn't seem to care.

We're staying in this year! With DS, a very pregnant mama and DH being home for NYE (In Iraq last year) we're planning to just watch some of DS's new Disney/Pixar movies and order in, just appreciating the time we have together.

Plus, it is so scary to be on the road with little ones on NYE.

We are going to a local coffeehouse/pub to listen to a friend's band play in the evening. Then we'll head home and ring in the new year just the 2 of us. I may not even be awake by midnight!

Working from 3:30 pm NYE to 11:30 pm NYDay to deal with everyone who gets arrested during this wonderful time. It is on call, but FML.

Probably dinner and a movie with my Mom, Grandma, and possibly my sister. Yep, partying it up hard! :P

We go to my aunts at 6pm and my cousins with kids come over. The kids run around and have a great time, the adults play games, drink wine when they are not pregnant and just hang until the kids get tired. Then we all leave around 9:30ish or earlier if the kids are "done" and go home and to bed. It's wonderful to have something fun to do and be in bed by 10pm. hahahaha

I usually cook a fancy meal on NYE and DH and I stay in and drink champagne. This year we'll still stay in, of course, but I'll likely just defrost one of my nicer frozen meals. Then we'll probably watch movies with the baby sleeping on us.

DH invited some friends over to watch some of the super hero movies that have come out in the past year. He loves those movies and thinks it's tragic some of our friends haven't seen them. I'm not much for super hero movies, but I don't mind him doing it because otherwise we wouldn't be doing anything. I'm too miserable to want to go anywhere.

Going to an early dinner ALONE, stopping by friends' house for a couple of hours, home to snuggle in the new year since it rings in past this tired, old girl's bed time ;-)
