Doc appointment

in an hour... I hope they tell me I am dilated at least a little.  Is anyone else already dilated?

    Yup! I am between 1 and 2cm dilated and already 50% effaced. I was shocked (but still not putting much stock in it).

    I have my 38 week in a few hours. Last 2 checks, I was only dilated a fingertip (which I think was just the doc humoring me). Hoping for progress today!

    Don't worry if you're not dilated - some women just go from 0cm to baby all of a sudden.

    Haven't been checked ...and no plans to be!  Granted, I'm a scheduled C, but even with my first I denied checks because it truly doesn't mean anything other than you're getting near the end, which you know because you're 37 wks in  ;-)  You can be 3cm and 30% effaced for three weeks or for three hours.  There's no telling and it doesn't offer any clues.  I have always been more concerned about the potential introduction of any bacteria, which can lead to infection.  I'm a worrier by nature (if you haven't gathered!  Lol) and the last thing I needed was one more thing to worry about for naught!  But GL!!!

    I have an appointment in about an hour, but 2 weeks ago (I declined a check last week; my doc said it's up to me from here on out) I was dilated to "not quite a 2." At 34w3d I was dilated to 1cm (ended up in L&D and they checked me then).  I'm hoping all these BH have done their job and I'm a bit further along when I have her check me today.

    3cm, 70% effaced yesterday. My doctor wouldn't usually have checked at that appointment, but I have had a lot of contractions in the last week(although not regular), including one when he was about to listen for the heartbeat. Even though we both agreed it wouldn't tell us anything, I was curious :) and then surprised. With DS1 I went from 1cm, 50% to 5cm and almost fully effaced in one week, so I'm curious to see what happens this time!

    I was checked on Tuesday and am 0.5cm dilated lol.  I find it kind of funny.  While I know things can change quickly or go very slow, I'm not putting much thought into it.  I am hoping to let her cook for at least another week and a half.  Then all bets are off!!!
