I think I'm going to take Stella to my next appt. in January. She'll be 2 March 31st. I think she will just sit on my lap and the hygenist will take a look at her teeth, nothing major.
I took her to a pediatric dentist at 2 yrs old. It was really more of just an intro exam, they looked at her 1 tooth that is chipped, and painted on the fluoride. She did really good for the hygenist and the painting on the fluoride, but was scared of the actual dentist. But she came in with mask on and didn't really say much, so I can see why she was scared.
She was really excited to go to the dentist though - we had been reading and talking about it for a week or so. And we talked about how she would get a prize afterwards, which of course she was pumped about.
18 months. They looked at his teeth and talked to me about good dental health. He went again at 3 and they counted his teeth and cleaned a few of them. Now they want to see him every 6 months (they start that at 3 at our office).
LO has gone to every appt with me. I just went at the beginning of Dec and she wanted nothing to do with it-they tried getting her to "ride in the chair" on my lap and she refused. At my next appt in June, she'll be 3 and thats when they start seeing them so we have back to back appts-should be a good time! Ha!
Reed started going every 6 months when he was almost 3. He has been twice and they clean his teeth, floss, and apply a coating of fluoride. The dentist comes in and takes a look just like any checkup.
We'll take her to our regular dentist but he suggests not until 3. He said there isn't much for him to do until all her teeth are in as long as we are brushing and taking care of them. I will probably make an appointment for October after our vacation.
