Anyone in this situation? I have been off since delivering in mid-Sept and can't believe a week from today I will be at work. Im so happy I got a little extra time with LO however I am feeling like I am running out of stay at home quality time with him!
I went back to work at the beginning of December and while it broke my heart anticipating it, now that I have been back a month we're all doing okay.
DS is soooo psyched to see me now, whereas before he didn't much care. We snuggle on the couch pretty much all night after i get home. Before I felt like while I was caring for him, it wasn't necesarily quality time.
And it's nice to be around adults during the day again.
All that said, I'm still trying to cut my hours to only 3 days a week so I can spend more time with my boy.
Good luck!

Me too! I don't want to gooo.......(pouting). We have to pack up and travel for a wedding this weekend. Absolutely the last thing I want to do on my last few days of maternity week. Just wondering how its going to work with a husband that works 70 hours/week?
I'm going back, too, and absolutely devastated!! There is not one part of me that wants to! I've been crying every day so I hope once I go back it's not as bad as I'm making it out to be. I would love nothing more than to be a stay-at-home mom. I'll be thinking about you....let me know how it goes for you!

I've been back at work for a while now....it sucks sometimes and is ok sometimes. It will take a while for all of you to adjust.
My advice: don't plan anything for the next few weekends; play it by ear. Much easier to plan something last minute than to feel pressure to go someplace you don't want to and/or cancel.
I went back @ 8 weeks & cried every day for a week. I tried to go back at 6 weeks but didnt make it through the day and stayed @ home for 2 more weeks.Son doesnt even go to daycare he stays home w/ MIL and is well taken care of. I still almost 8 weeks later cry once in a while. I've been off for a week so tomorrow is going to be rough GL ladies.
I've been back since Nov 28th and it was a hard adjustment at first and I have a hard time when LO comes home exhausted from daycare and sleeps the rest of the night so I barely get to see her. I look forward to days off and weekends with her for special time.
I've been back to work since Dec. 12 and I pretty much hate it. I cried so much the day before and the morning of my first day. THen again that afternoon. It gets a little bit easier, but I still have times when I go to the bathroom to cry
I live for the weekends and any time off of work.

I've also been off since mid-September and return on the 3rd. I always thought I would want to be a SAHM, but now I realize that working part time is the best thing for me. I didn't think this until about a week ago - I was dreading going back to work and then it just clicked one day that I was excited to get out and go to work.
I'm very happy I work for a good company (adidas) that is super flexible!

I went back last week Thursday. It's hard but once I got to work and was busy it was ok. However, DH took some vacation time to stay home with DS so that made it a lot easier. Friday is his first day with childcare, that will be harder!

I'm in the same boat - going back next week since having my little man on 9/26. Dreading it so much. I take a little comfort in the fact that he will be with daddy on Mondays and Wednesdays and me on Fridays (working from home) so he will only be in daycare on Tues and Thurs.

I go back the 3rd (been off since Aug 19th!). I took DS to DC yesterday for a trial run and left him there the morning, he did so well and that made the thoughts about leaving him much easier on me.
Me too ! I go back Jan 3 and I am dreading it I have been crying everyday and just the thought of leaving for the day makes me cringe. I just keep telling myself I am going back for him, to provide for him, to make him a better life !
I am also returning to work Jan 2nd. I think I might kiss LO cheeks off in the next few days. I have loved being home with her & I am really hoping we have a good transition to daycare.

Wow, I'd give anything to have had as much time as the rest of you ladies! I've been back since November 14th (only able to take 7 1/2 weeks). I cried so much the three weeks leading up to coming back, and also the week of. It was NOT easy - but with time it's just become a routine and part of our daily life now. I def. have much better quality time with my DS now, I don't take it for granted. It never gets easier being away from LO, but you'll soon fall into your own routine. I've been patiently waiting for my work to reduce my hours (I requested this) because I'm gone almost 12 hours a day - it's been VERY hard to work this schedule since being back

I go back next week too and I have been having mini-meltdowns every now and then just thinking about it! The worst part is that I shouldn't be so upset because Landon is coming with me. (I teach Kindergarten at a private school and he will be right across the hall) So really...I should be fine, but I'm still "woe is me"! lol I'm more concerned with being able to handle everything all the time....taking care of his needs, laundry, cleaning, cooking, AND working! I guess it will all work itself out!
